    NO late entries will be accepted.

  • Competition Entry - Rules & Regulations

  • Entries are limited to a maximum of 1 per exhibit per catagory.

    Entry Fee $5.00 per exhibit however if you are putting in multiple entries the fees are capped at $50.00.

    ONLY ONE JAR IS TO BE SUBMITTED FOR JUDGING
    Your jar of honey will not be returned post judging but will be donated to a charitible institution. Thank you.

    Entry submission closes 18th May 2026

    Only the top 3 entries in each class will be tasted. Tasting is one of the last criteria the judges undertake.

    OPTIONAL SOMMELIER REPORT AVAILABLE THIS YEAR

    If you would like to have a sommelier report generated for your honey entry you can request this, at your own cost, by checking the box against the category you are entering. 

    Cost of Sommelier Report $80

    Payment for Sommelier Report will be direct to House of Honey when you drop off your entries.

    LIQUID HONEY CLASSES

    Class 1-6: Liquid Honey
    Honey exhibited in classes 1-6 must be shown in a standard trade jar.
    The jar must be round (not panelled) 375ml, unlabelled and in clear glass with a metal lid (black or gold). The jar must contain 500g net weight of honey.

    Liquid honey is judged on elements including clarity, moisture content, container appearance, cleanliness of the inside of the jars, flavour and aroma.


    Natural granulated and creamed honey is judged on the evenness of grain, flavour, firmness and colour.

    Class 5: Comb in Honey
    Comb in liquid Honey (chunk honey). Piece of comb (approx. 100mm x 40mm) in liquid honey, both to be from the same floral source.

    BEESWAX CLASSES

    Only pure beeswax is to be used, no colouring or decorative features.

    Beeswax Candles receive points for appearance, burn response & wick, ease of lighting, feel, and cleanliness. The entry must be of the year of entry and not have been presented for judging before.

    Entries will be marked.

    Class 7 & 8: Beeswax Light & Dark
    Not less than 500g in one block.

    Class 9 & 10 Beeswax Sculptures & Candles
    Artistic in design.

    Please add up all the entries your are planning and put the total number in the area below, plus the amount you will be paying to our account.

    Payment by Direct Debit is preferred as this will allow us to understand in advance how many entries we are going to receive in each category that will not be submitted until the day of the show (edible entries).

    Please note: Sommelier Report requests are to be paid directly to House of Honey when you drop your entries off.

  • All awards are presented at the Honey Festival, Sunday 24 May 2026 at 3 pm.

    Each entry is judged and marked accordingly to the regulations above and will have their results emailed to them.

    All entry numbers are placed on the honey jar/container lid or marked clearly visible on the wax/sculptor box/wrapping.

    It is your responsibility to check that;

    1. your entry numbers are correctly placed
    2. your name, address and all entry numbers are listed on the entry sheet
    3. we also suggest you take a photograph your entry and form before leaving

    AWARD LOGO

    Medal winners in the 2026 competition will also receive via email a graphic representation of awarded medal. This medal is awarded to the winning production batch (used in retail), and we encourage you to use this symbol for marketing, promotional and information purposes. Graphic representation of the medal should be only used with information about the year of the competition.

     

     

  • Should be Empty:
