  • Background Check

    In order to provide safe and secure care for our clients we run a background check on volunteers coming into the pregnancy center. After the interview you will be sent a link where you can put in your information.

  • Male Client Advocates are placed on a text thread that distributes a text message when the Father of the Baby is planning to join the mother for the appointment. The text will read something like, "Is anyone available to meet with a Father of the Baby (FOB) Monday at 8:30 am?"

    If you are available, respond accordingly and plan to attend. If you are available, but someone else has already volunteered to attend, you can inform the thread that you are happy to be a backup.

    If unavailable, do not respond to keep the thread as clear as possible. 

  • We ask that our advocates to commit to one appointment time on any day that they can volunteer. We of course are willing to work with you if that isn't feasable, but this allows you to see a minimum of 1 client/ week. This helps us in scheduling appointments and keeping track of who comes in when. Appointment times generally run about 2 hours, so it ends up being about a 3 hour commitment/ week minimum. If you would like to or are available to do more, we would love that as well.

  • MISSION STATEMENT
    The Blue Ridge Pregnancy Center exists to save lives and comfort those involved with unplanned pregnancies while furthering the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

    STATEMENT OF FAITH & CODE OF CHRISTIAN CONDUCT
    (To be signed annually)

    Christianity is central to the purpose and mission of the Blue Ridge Pregnancy Center. It is the Center’s policy to be staffed, whether by employees or volunteers, with only committed disciples of Jesus Christ. We believe that in order to preserve the function and integrity of the purposes and mission of our organization, and to provide a biblical role model to the patients, clients, and members of the community we serve, it is imperative that all persons working at the organization in any capacity, or who serve as volunteers, are in agreement with the provisions set forth herein and the mission statement and objectives of the Center. Consequently, all employees and volunteers are expected to annually review and affirm his or her agreement with the Statement of Faith and Code of Christian Conduct as a condition of affiliation with the Center, both in terms of doctrinal belief and practical application. Violation of these principles shall constitute cause for discipline up to and including termination.

    “…set an example for believers (and unbelievers) in speech, in life, in love, in faith, and in purity.” (I Timothy 4: 12b) “Whatever happens, conduct yourselves in a manner worthy of the gospel of Christ.” (Phil 1:27)

    1. Statement of Faith:
    We believe the Bible to be the inspired, only infallible, authoritative Word of God.
    (1 Thess 2:13; 2 Tim 3:15-17; John 3:16)

    1. We believe that there is one God, eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
      (Matt 28:19; John 10:30; Eph 4:4-6)
    2. We believe in the deity and humanity of our Lord Jesus Christ, in His virgin birth, His sinless life, His miracles, His vicarious and atoning death through His shed blood, in His bodily resurrection, His ascension to the right hand of the Father, in His present rule as Head of the Church, and in His future return in power and glory. (Matt 1:23; John 1:1-4 & 1:29; Acts 1:11 & 2:22-24; Rom 8:34; 1 Cor 15:3-4; 2 Cor 5:21; Phil 2:5-11; Heb 1:1-4 & 4:15)
    3. We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, and that salvation is received by grace alone, through faith alone in Him as Savior and Lord, and not as a result of good works. (1 Cor 15:3; Eph 2:9; Rom 10:9-15)
    4. We believe that all people everywhere are lost and face the judgment of God, that Jesus Christ is the only way of salvation, and that for the salvation of the lost and sinful, repentance of sin and faith in Jesus Christ results in regeneration by the Holy Spirit enabling them to live a righteous and godly life. (Rom 3:23; Luke 24:46-47; John 14:6; Acts 4:12; Eph 1;7 & 2:8-9)
    5. We believe in the resurrection of both the saved and the lost and that God will reward the righteous with eternal life in heaven, and that He will banish the unrighteous to everlasting punishment in hell. (2 Cor 5:10-11; Tit 3:4-7)
    6. We believe in the spiritual unity of true believers in our Lord Jesus Christ, with equality across race, gender, and class, and believe they are all members of His body, the Church. (1 Cor 12:12, 27; Gal 6:10)
    7. We believe that we must dedicate ourselves to prayer, to the service of our Lord, to His authority over our lives, and to the ministry of evangelism. (Matt 22:37-39 & 28:18-20; Acts 1:8; Rom 12:20-21; 1 Pet 3:15

    2. Statement of Sanctity of Human Life: We believe that all human life is sacred and created by God in His image. Human life is of inestimable worth in all its dimensions, including all pre-born babies, the aged, the physically or mentally challenged and every other stage or condition from conception through natural death. We are therefore called to defend, protect and value all human life. Psalm 119:73, 139:13, Isaiah 44:2 & 24.

    3. Statement on Marriage, Gender and Sexuality: We believe God’s plan for human sexuality is to be expressed only within the context of monogamous marriage between a biological male and a biological female as the foundation of the family and the basic structure of human society. We believe that God has commanded that no intimate sexual activity be engaged in outside of a marriage between a man and a woman. We believe that God wonderfully and immutably creates each person as male or female and these two distinct, complementary genders together reflect the image and nature of God. Genesis 1:26-27 and 2:24; Matthew 19:5-6; Mark 10:6-9; Romans 1:26-27; 1 Corinthians 6:9.

    4. Statement of Biblical Authority: The statement of faith does not exhaust the extent of our faith. The Bible itself is the sole and final source of all that we believe as interpreted and applied by our governing board. We believe the Bible to be the inspired, infallible Word of God and is final authority concerning morality and conduct of mankind. For purposes of the Center’s religious foundations, our board of directors in consultation with a Pastoral Advisory Committee is the final interpretive authority on the Bible’s meaning and application.
    5. Code of Christian Conduct:


    •We are conscious of the fact that everything we do, directly or indirectly, has the potential to reflect upon the Blue Ridge Pregnancy Center as a whole.

    •We conduct ourselves at all times with openness, forthrightness, and honesty in dealing with people and organizations, both internally and externally.

    • We hold ourselves to the highest possible standard of conduct, always striving to avoid even the appearance of impropriety.

    • All of our communications are truthful, honest, and accurately describe the services we offer.

    • We operate in accordance with all applicable laws.

    • We respect confidentiality and only disclose information as required by law or as otherwise directed by the patient/client.

    • We treat others with kindness, compassion and in a caring and courteous manner.

    • We believe in the sanctity of life from the moment of conception to natural death.

    • We oppose abortion under any circumstance.

    • We oppose all forms of abortifacients.

    • We give accurate information about pregnancy, fetal development, lifestyle issues, and related concerns.

    • We do not offer, recommend or refer for abortions or abortifacients, but we are committed to offering accurate information about abortion procedures and risks.

    •We believe the Bible is the authoritative Word of God and provides guidance for our lives.

    •We believe that God intends sexual intimacy to occur only between a man and a woman who are married to each other. We believe in the sanctity of marriage between one man and one woman as taught in the Bible. Therefore, all staff and volunteers commit to a lifestyle of sexual purity and will refrain from engaging in any sexual relationships outside the bonds of Christian marriage.

    • We live a lifestyle consistent with biblical values.

    • All “conflict of interest” relationships will be avoided with board members, staff, suppliers, those we serve, and other organizations with whom we deal, unless disclosed and approved.

    •No one will accept gifts or favors which might influence the performance of their responsibilities.
