Open to 15 roasters.
With a goal of showcasing southwest roasters, at this time the competition is only open to roasters located in Texas, New Mexico, Arizona, and Colorado.
Registration fee: $100.
Each roaster will be provided with 10lbs of the same green beans, sourced and selected by Cafe Imports, with the input of the judges.
Beans will be shipped to you the week of February 15-21, 2025
Competition coffee must be received back to us no later than March 28.

To be considered, you must submit no less than 3 pounds of roasted coffee.
Shipping address of Plata Coffee will be included with your green beans.
Coffees will be evaluated on aroma, flavor, aftertaste, and acidity at a blind judging at Plata Coffee in Albuquerque, NM on Thursday, April 3.
All competitors are asked to submit a 2-3 minute bio-video about themselves and their roasting process.
Winners will be announced the evening of Saturday, April 5 at the Southwest Chocolate and Coffee Fest.
Winners will be announced in a national press release.
Additional prizes include medals, and
1st Place: $1000 cash prize
2nd Place: $350 in cash and coffee equipment
3rd Place: $200 in cash and coffee equipment
