    Summer 2026 Dates (9 weeks): June 29, 2026 - August 28, 2026 (Closed July 1st and August 3rd)

    Centre hours: 7:30am-6:00pm.

    Cost for weekly session:

    Children entering K & Grade 1: $273.75 ($219.00 for the holiday weeks)

    Children entering Grades 2-8: $325.00 ($260.00 for the holiday weeks)

    Fees include a fee reduction from the Ministry of Children and Family Development.

    Families receiving Affordable Child Care Benefit (ACCB) please see your centre supervisor for your fee. The amount will be the difference between the fee and the ACCB top up.

    Lunch, snacks and all activities are included in this fee (NO daily rates available)

    Withdrawal Policy: There will be no changes allowed, and no refunds or credits, unless we are able to fill your space, in which case a full refund minus a $35.00 administrative charge will be issued. There will be no refunds or credits for days not attended, with exception of centre closures.

    If you are enrolling more than one child, please submit an individual form for each child.

                                          • Registering a child with Allergies, Health Concerns, or Dietary Restrictions?*

                                          • If it is a severe allergy or if your child has asthma, once you are accepted into the summer program, please complete the Anaphylaxis care plan or Asthma care plan which is found on our website under the Registration tab, on the “Forms” page, if there is not already one at the centre.

                                          • SUNSCREEN CONSENT FORM 2026

                                          • We try our best to keep the children Sun Safe by increasing awareness and reinforcing healthy sun safe behaviour among children and staff, as well as following recommended best practices that include: Encouraging the children to wear their hats outside, playing in the shade, covering up, using broad spectrum sunscreen that is 30 spf or higher.

                                            Please provide your child with sunscreen daily. We recommend following the Canadian Cancer Foundations tips on choosing sunscreen products that are available and safe for children. Health Canada regulates the safety, effectiveness, and quality of sunscreens in Canada. Sunscreen products are classified as drugs and must meet the requirements in Canada's Food and Drugs Act before they may be imported,advertised, or sold in this country. Because of this regulation by Health Canada, we require your permission to provide sunscreen to your child.

                                          • Every year near the end of the summer program we prepare and present a slideshow highlighting the fun and exciting activities the children have participated in. The images may also be used for various marketing initiatives to promote Spare Time Child Care Society as well as our social media pages (Facebook and Instagram).

                                          • SUMMER FIELD TRIPS

                                          • Field trips are taken in our 14 passenger Variety Club Vans, 18, 20 and 21 passenger busses, 47 passenger school bus, and a rented 72 passenger school bus driven by Class 2 and Class 4 drivers. Daily trips are posted at the centre; please check the board daily.

                                          • Spare Time will maintain legal ratios and always provide the most careful supervision possible. If you have any further questions or comments, please do not hesitate to see your centre supervisor.

                                          • SUMMER PROGRAM EXPECTATIONS & REGISTRATION AGREEMENT

                                          • Expectations: If your child is arriving late, or if you intend to pick your child up early, please notify the centre in advance. Please walk your child into the centre every morning. If your child will be late or absent, please notify the centre before 10:00 am.

                                            Please do not bring electronics or anything that is valuable. Spare Time is not responsible for items that may be lost or broken. Spare Time restricts personal digital device use (cell phones, smart watches, tablets) during program hours to minimize distractions. Devices must be silent and out of sight unless for authorized or medical reasons.

                                            Your child does not need to bring money to the centre (unless specified by the program). On any given day, children may be away from the centre until 5:00 pm. 

                                            We will continue to follow the health and safety guidelines provided by the Ministry of Health and the BCACC. Please do not send your child to the centre if they are sick.

                                            Registration Agreement: Registration will only be confirmed by payment/ACCB authorization. Enrolment will not be confirmed if there is an outstanding account.

                                            I understand that payment must be paid in advance and there are NO REFUNDS OR CREDITS ALLOWED FOR CANCELLATIONS OR CHANGES, unless Spare Time is able to fill my child’s spot in which case, I will receive a full refund less a $35.00 administrative charge, or if there are centre closures. There are no refunds or credits for days not attended. I have read the Summer Program expectations and agreement and give my child permission to participate in the program. I understand and accept all terms outlined.

                                          • Early Placement Letter for children who will be attending summer care prior to attending Kindergarten in September 2026

                                            Community Care Facilities Licensing requires us to apply for an exemption for children who are not yet in school to attend our programs.

                                            Parents registering children who will be attending Kindergarten in September 2026, are asked to write a short letter requesting early placement in school age child care for the summer. Please include the following in your letter:

                                            • The date
                                            • Address the letter to Spare Time Bobolink
                                            • Request early placement and the reason why (e.g., to prepare for Kindergarten, to encourage comfortin a group setting, etc.).

Please provide the letter as soon as your summer weeks have been confirmed, as it must be submitted to licensing and approved before your child can attend.
