Difference Between Installation and Replacement

When you get a new light fixture you usually request an installation price because it is a new install. However, 99% of the time it is a replacement. If you already have another light there it already has an electrical box so there is no need to run wires and install a new electrical box. An installation costs 2 to 3 times as much as a replacement so please make sure you choose the correct one.

An Electrical Box is used to house electrical wire connections and properly support fixtures. Also called outlet box or junction box.
