Safety in Spine Surgery Project (S3P) Research Grant Application

To advance safety in spine surgery, S3P funds physician-initiated research studies with the goal of finding new and innovative approaches to improve patient care and safety. As many as two grants are given out annually at a maximum of $10,000 each.

Grant Deadlines

Two (2) grants will be awarded annually with a maximum value of $10,000 each. The project durations can vary from 1 year to 2 years.

2025 Application Submission Deadline: April 21, 2025

Grant Conditions

Funds will be distributed on a timeline:
- 50% at signature
- 25% at mid-point with a report required
- 25% at completion of research with final report submitted to S3P and proof of manuscript submission.
A six-monthly report to S3P is required. The authors should be prepared to present their research, or provide an update, at the subsequent Safety in Spine Surgery Summit.
