    You will require public liability insurance, if the walk is 100% in aid of Bulldog Rescue you are able to use our insurance policy, you will be emailed a copy once you have registered your walk. You can use it again on future walks but ONLY if they are also held for Bulldog Rescue and they MUST be registered with us in advance. If you are not donating the full amount to Bulldog Rescue (ie: you are splitting the money with another charity) you will not be able to use our policy and will need obtain insurance independently. This can be arranged via http://www.insuremyevent.co.uk and typically costs about £30. If you decide not to have Public Liability Insurance it will be at your own risk, Bulldog Rescue will not be held liable for any accident or incident that occurs at your event. 

    If you are planning to hold a collection on public land you need to seek permission from your local authority - you also need to be aware that it is illegal to physically shake the tin at anyone.

    You must register the event with Bulldog Rescue, this will also help ensure that walks don't clash or are held too close together in the same area, if your walk is not registered in advance you will not be able to use our insurance certificate.

    Collecting tins must be sealed during the event and must be opened in the presence of at least one other person.  The takings can then be banked into the bank account. You cannot collect money for any other charity in our collecting tins and doing so is illegal and doing so is considered fraud under the laws of this country.

    Off Lead Dogs

    It is an insurance requirement that all dogs at a BDR event must be ON LEAD at ALL TIMES. If you have guests that let their dogs off it will be entireley their responsibility should there be an incident either with another dog or a member of the public!

  • IMPORTANT INFORMATION:

    Please ensure you have the permission of the land owner and/or local authority responsible for any park or public space that you plan to meet in.

    Ensure you keep the dogs on leads at all times (off lead dogs will invalidate the insurance) and that you are polite and do not interfere with members of the public also using the same public space.

    Collecting tins must not be shaken at members of the public at any time

  • IMPORTANT!

    STREET COLLECTIONS: You must have the permission of the local authority before you can collect money on the streets

    SHOP COLLECTIONS: You must have the permission of both the Shop Company (ie: Tesco) and the local authority if you will be standing on, or set up on the pavement or a public space that is not owned by the shop itself

    We will require proof of this authority. You may need a letter from us to confirm you are collecting on behalf of a legitimate charity.

    DO YOU NEED BULLDOG RESCUE'S INSURANCE DOCUMENT?

    YES: If you are a Bulldog Rescue Volunteer or will have a Bulldog Rescue Volunteer in attendance AT ALL TIMES throughout the event or if your event is part of a larger Bulldog Rescue dedicated fund raising group you can register this as a Bulldog Rescue event and therefore use our insurance

    Some street collections may qualify for use of our insurance. Pease speak to us about your event

    NO: If you are a member of the public with no representation from Bulldog Rescue present at your event you will need to arrange your own insurace (see https://www.insuremyevent.co.uk/ for details)

    NO: If the event is covered by insurance already ie: An existing event which doesn't require personal insurance to take part or a Public Sponsored Event organised via a large Fund Raising group or company ie: Sky Diving, Challenges, Marathons etc - CHECK YOUR REGISTRATION DOCUMENT

    NO: If the takings of this event are to be split with another charity or if the event is a joint one with another fund raiser you will need to arrange your own insurace (see https://www.insuremyevent.co.uk/ for details)

    ALREADY HAVE A COPY: Please be aware that rules have changed regarding use of Bulldog Rescue's insurance, you can only continue to use our policy if the event is 100% held for Bulldog Rescue with a Bulldog Rescue Volunteer in attendance at all times throughout the event.
