  • CAND – What you should know…
     

    The Canadian Association of Naturopathic Doctors (CAND) is the foremost authority, advocate and trusted source representing and advancing Naturopathic Doctors across Canada.

     What we do:

    • We are the national and international voice (through the American Association of Naturopathic Physicians) and as a founding member of the World Naturopathic Federation) for the Canadian naturopathic profession.
    • Educate, inform and advocate on behalf of the profession with the federal government, insurance companies, the natural products industry and large corporations and unions.
    • Participate federally in advisory committees, scientific review panels and consultations as a stakeholder with Health Canada, the Ministry of Finance and Veterans Affairs.
    • Monitor & support provincial regulatory efforts across Canada.
    • Lead the Canadian Naturopathic Coordinating Council (CNCC) coordinating the Profession’s strategic plan.
    • Provide member advantages, e.g., national malpractice insurance plan, home & auto insurance, full service banking package, access to Natural Medicines Database.
    • Organize and promote Naturopathic Medicine Week across Canada.
    • Host a redesigned self-serve website devoted to the Profession including a search engine for referrals to naturopathic doctors.
