    This registration form is for ALL CA Pilgrims including all roles, except for the Glanfield Group.

    The answers to these questions will be reviewed by the CA Healthcare Team. If required, a member of the team will be in contact with an additional questionnaire.
  • Please remember to bring your GHIC (https://www.nhs.uk/using-the-nhs/healthcare-abroad/apply-for-a-free-uk-global-health-insurance-card-ghic/) and a copy of your GP Summary Care Record with you on pilgrimage. This can be obtained by a request to your GP Surgery. (Please remember to request at least 2 months prior to pilgrimage date)

    Our Mission is to make the Pilgrimage possible for You!
  • Assisted Pilgrims have the option to stay in a Hotel or in the Accueil - which is like a hospital where Helpers and Healthcare Professionals of the Catholic Association are available night and day. The Accueil is recommended for those Assisted Pilgrims who need help with day-to-day activities such as washing, dressing, and moving. In 2026 we will be using the Accueil Saint-Frai.

    Please fill out a form for each person, regardless of age.
  • In order to access the full subsidised Youth fair, you should be both travelling and staying with the Young Helpers Group.

    Please contact youth@catholicassociation.co.uk if you would like to Travel Only or Stay Only with the Young Helpers Group.

  • The Catholic Association asks for a contribution of £35 which goes towards the costs of pilgrimage including a levy to the Lourdes Sanctuaries, badges, booklets, lanyards and administrative expenses.

     

    If you are booking directly with Tangney Tours (the official pilgrimage tour operator), your contribution will be included within the cost of your booking.

  • Volunteer Helper

    We welcome volunteers of ALL ages to assist with care, rolling, logistics, chaplaincy, music, and more. The most important part of the role being accompanying, communicating with, and sharing the experience with Assisted Pilgrims.
  • We will run a Preparation Day in the summer which is required for ALL NEW volunteers, Team leaders and returning helpers who last attended more than 5 years ago, any other volunteers are very welcome to attend.

    You will receive a calendar invite with more details after submitting the form. If you don't get an invite, can't attend or have any questions, please contact our Chief Brancardier and Chief Handmaid via chiefs@catholicassociation.co.uk

  • Healthcare Professional

    Healthcare professionals, such as Doctors, Nurses, Allied Health Professionals, HCAs and healthcare students are all welcome! It is a unique clinical experience to deliver truly holistic care over the course of one week. For any healthcare students we are looking to offer tailored elective placements exploring holistic care and an introduction to care for people through travel.

    There is a NEW requirement that ALL clergy wishing to assist at services in the domain MUST be registered with the Sanctuary. We will contact you for more information.

    Details about the Music Group Practice before Lourdes will be emailed.
  • DBS & Safeguarding

    We need ALL volunteers to have an enhanced DBS check to work with adults, and ideally with children. We can accept checks done for organisations if these are registered with the DBS Update Service.
  • If you have indicated one of the options above, you must have checked that your certificate is still on the DBS Update Service.

     

    If your DBS check was done for another organisation, you will need to send a copy of your certificate to sadie@catholicassociation.co.uk

    Suitable referee suggestions include:

    • A Priest
    • Your School Chaplin
    • Your Year or Work Team Leader
    • Anybody in a position of responsibility able to comment on your suitability to be a Pilgrimage Volunteer
