• DR. RON JOHNSON AND DR. MARY BECK NATURE CONSERVATION FELLOWSHIP NOMINATION

    College of Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources

  • One $1250 fellowship will be awarded to a graduate student seeking a degree in nature conservation within CASNR.

    • Demonstrated strong interest and passion for study toward a degree in nature conservation. Nature conservation includes birds and the farms that love them; butterflies, bees and the flowers that invite them; and the diversity of the life forms and habitats that allow the natural world and ours to persist forever. Nature conservation thrives in concert with people through harmony and respect for family farms and rural communities. 
    • Requirements include
      • Enrolled full-time in a Phd or MS program in CASNR.
      • School of Natural Resources, Entomology, or comparable degree program.
      • Supported by an assistantship, or comparable funding.
      • Not a previous recipient
      • Thesis or dissertation demonstrating excellence and a clear focus on conservation of nature and the biological diversity of life on Earth.
      • Demonstrated superior professionalism and service to the University and/or the community.

    Your nomination information may be provided to the University of Nebraska Foundation or Donor in order to aid in choosing a recipient, or invite you to attend a scholarship meeting/luncheon with the donors of your scholarship or provide more information on your award.

    Nomination materials must be received by June 30, 2025.

    Students must be nominated by a faculty or staff member.
