The Lohry Fellowship is available to graduate students currently enrolled as full-time students in a College of Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources online program. The Lohry Fellowship constitutes a $1000 award based on academic and scholastic achievement or promise and cannot be associated with any service requirement.
Fellowships will be awarded to graduate students who have been accepted into an M.S. or M.A.S. program, and enrolled full-time in the semester the award is granted. Normally, to be competitive the student’s application file must show evidence of a current degree GPA of 3.5 or greater; excellent scores on the GRE (if required), and and excellent letter of support. Lohry Fellowships are non-renewable.
Only students with generally high scholastic and career potential should be nominated.
Nominations should be filled out by the student's advisor or faculty member familiar with the student's academic performance.
The Chairperson of the Unit Graduate Committee will review the nomination along with the appropriate supporting data, rank the nominations (if more than one) and submit to the Department Head.
Once approved by the Graduate Committee and the Unit Head/Chair/Director, the nomination packet will be forwarded to the CASNR Graduate Fellowship Selection Committee.
If the nomination is declined, email notifications will be sent to the Proposer and/or Unit Graduate Committee.
Applications must include a letter of support from the advisor familiar with the student’s academic performance.
Multiple submissions from a department should be prioritized by the Unit Graduate Committee and endorsed by the Unit Head/Chair/Director.
The stipend will be credited to the student’s MyRed account; if the student has already paid her/his tuition and fees, the student will get a refund. No service expectations can be made of the recipients as a result of being awarded this fellowship.
CASNR GRADUATE FELLOWSHIP COMMITTEE: The CASNR Graduate Fellowship Committee is comprised of the Dean, Associate Dean(s) and Faculty Fellows of the College of Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources.
CALENDAR: Applications will be accepted at the start of the semester (following the 6-day census).
