  • I. PERSONAL DATA

  • Thank you for your interest in Youth Leadership!  Our mission is to identify and develop a cadre of young leaders for the purpose of assuming responsible community leadership roles necessary for impacting the future of Hopkinsville and Christian County.   

    Applications must be received by Monday, March 24, 2025 to be eligible for consideration.  Applicants will be notified by April 21, 2025.  

    Since the number of participants in the program is limited and the number of applications received far exceeds the number of selected participants, applicants who are not selected are encouraged to reapply in subsequent years.

  • II. ORGANIZATIONS AND EMPLOYMENT

    Please list up to five religious, social, athletic, community and/or any other organizations or projects to which you have contributed leadership.

  • III. ATTENDANCE

  • Christian County Youth Leadership requires that participants commit to attendance at the overnight opening retreat and be present for all sessions (8 sessions & graduation).

    One parent must be in attendance at the parent meeting. At the mandatory parent meeting (TBA), a fee of $75.00 must be paid to Christian County Youth Leadership. A limited number of scholarships are available for those who need help with the fee.

    If you are unable to make a full commitment to the program, it is not in your best interest to apply. If you miss more than eight (8) hours during the year, you will not be eligible to graduate.  Institutional leave will be granted for participants upon advanced approval. 

    Each participant will be assigned to a project group which requires at least one hour a month of community service. These monthly community service hours are mandatory!

  • IV. FINANCIAL SCHOLARSHIP

  • Limited scholarship funding is available.

    If accepted, will you find it necessary to seek partial scholarship assistance towards the tuition fee? If so, how much assistance will you be seeking? 

  • V. CRITERIA FOR SELECTION

  • 1.     The opportunity to commit the time and effort which this program is requires.

    2.    Your complete application packet will be reviewed by a committee and will be based on the following criteria:  application, prior school & community involvement, essay, and teacher recommendation.

    3.    Application Checklist: (check off before submitting to indicate a complete packet)

    Incomplete and late applications will not be reviewed.

    Define community involvement and the importance of being involved in a community. Who are some individuals in your community that make a difference in making your community better? Explain how they make a difference and why you chose them. Tell how your community has been impacted by your community involvement and the involvement of other young people. As a future leader, what will some of your goals for being involved in the community in which you choose to live? What impact will it have on your community and/or the individuals you will serve? Be sure to address all parts of the question in at least 250 words.

    Please list your principal contact information below. The program coordinators will review the applicant list with the principals and receive a favorable approval for your application to move forward.

    Please complete the information below for your teacher recommendation. The teacher you list below will receive an automated email. It is your responsibility to inform the teacher you added them to this application and they will be receiving an email to approve your application.
