Introduction to Legal, Compliance and ESG Team
CIP’s Legal, Compliance and ESG Team currently consists of seven legal professionals and two legal Interns. The team works closely together to manage a wide range of legal, regulatory and risk matters across CIP’s activities globally. Legal, Compliance and ESG supports the management and internal stakeholders with legal advice and guidance with respect to a broad range of applicable legal and contractual governance requirements related to the funds and their respective investments. The team also supports the Investment and Asset Management Teams with transaction-related requirements.
Background for the role as Document Manager
CIP has experienced a significant growth over the past years based on both strong commitments and an increasing international presence. CIP is expecting this growth to continue and is currently fundraising for their fourth flagship fund (CI IV), which is expected to become one of the world’s biggest renewable energy infrastructure funds.
This development will add an increasing complexity and additional international stakeholders to the business. Therefore, CIP is continually working on strengthening their internal business processes to ensure that the organisation is well-equipped for the years to come. One of these internal business processes relates to CIP’s document management and document storage efforts. To lead these efforts going forward, CIP is currently looking for an experienced Document Manager. The Document Manager will be the focal point of contact for document management within CIP and will work to ensure that policies and procedures are in place, ensure exemplary document management, filing and discipline and keep up to date with any industry, technological and regulatory developments. The Document Manager must assert himself/herself as a trusted business advisor that is able to work independently and hands-on while establishing and maintaining strong stakeholder relations both within and outside of the organisation – in Denmark and internationally.
The Document Manager will become part of the Legal, Compliance and ESG Team and will report into the ESG Manager. The Document Manager will work across the entire organisation and closely with the ERM/Systems Manager.
CIP is looking for a Document Manager who can introduce and implement a robust and easy-to-use digital document storage system which is implemented across and used by the whole organisation. You will be the trusted advisor to the organisation with high internal customer satisfaction, and provide a “consultant-like” service to the business. In addition, the Document Manager will deliver concrete and operational guidance and advice which the business can apply directly and immediately. In this position, you will promote a strong document storage and retention culture.
Your key areas of responsibility will be:

Your key responsibilities will consist of, but are not limited to:
Creating and managing information management processes for everyday operations, maintenance and quality control of document storage
Building a culture of, and assisting staff with awareness of how to, file completed documents in physical and digital records and ensuring appropriate storage as well as ensuring that all documents are collected and registered in a system
Establishing and driving a process and procedures across the organisation for collecting, tagging (classifying) and filing documents and records across various departments
Performing checks to ensure the effectiveness of the document storage system and processes
Configuring digital records systems and identifying opportunities for improvement and development/ramp-up over time (e.g. supporting processes for automation)
Assisting external inspectors throughout the auditing process
The ideal candidate
The ideal candidate has a relevant BSc or other education in a business, information science or IT-related field. In addition, the ideal candidate has a proven experience in:
Document control, structuring of archiving/storage and management
Knowledge of document management systems, products, and software programmes such as Microsoft Sharepoint
Developing and implementing new business processes across organisations
Records manager training is an advantage
