The position
As the new Project Developer with focus on projects in Sweden, you will contribute to the development and innovation of future renewable energy projects. You will be responsible for preparing environmental assessments and environmental screenings for the projects in collaboration with consultants, municipalities, neighbors, and local associations, etc., on specific projects, with the aim of ensuring the adoption of local plans, environmental approvals, and building permits. Additionally, you will be part of a team that screens for new project areas and prepares project applications. Our office is located in Copenhagen, but you can be based in either Denmark or Sweden. Your primary tasks will include:
- Dialogue with consultants, municipalities, Länsstyrelsen, Naturskyddsföreningen, etc., regarding biodiversity and nature considerations within our project areas
- Coordination of project applications for local plans in collaboration with land surveyors, environmental consultants, and municipal officials
- Discussions and negotiations with local communities, municipalities, and neighbors regarding energy projects and property projects, including land adjustments, and compensations
- Preparation of project applications, project materials, planning documents, etc.
- Overview of required public meetings related to project development, including community meetings and legally mandated meetings about neighbor compensations, etc., in cooperation with authorities
- Ensuring that tasks are completed as agreed and on time
Your profile
To be successful in the role of Project Developer, we expect you to have a relevant academic education and experience from a similar role (e.g., Project Developer, Architect, Urban Planner, Landscape Architect, Land Surveyor, etc.), preferably within the industry. It is essential for the role that you have worked with or have good knowledge of Sweden and its market, as this will be your primary responsibility area. Additionally, solid problem-solving abilities, critical thinking skills, and motivation to efficiently execute projects are crucial. Furthermore, we expect you to possess the following competencies:
- Knowledge of planlagstiftningen and environmental legislation in Sweden
- Proficiency in GIS tools
- Experience with and understanding of political decision-making processes, particularly at the municipal level
- Experience in negotiations and agreement-making, preferably regarding private entities and local communities
- Strong communication skills in both written and spoken Swedish and English
- Ability to work independently as well as in a team
