The current pipeline consists of approximately 4,000 ha, equivalent to around 4 GW, in selected key areas, and the company is now in the process of developing one of Denmark's largest utility-scale solar PV projects, with a capacity exceeding 500 MW.
The position
As the newly appointed Project Director at St. Jørgen Energy, you will play a key role in the company's growth, overseeing project timelines and budget of projects. You will overlook and manage most technical aspects, covering everything from the initial concept stages through construction to the completion. Your role involves comprehensive management of all operations, ensuring alignment with the overall strategy and mission. This includes developing high-quality business strategies and plans that resonate with both short-term and long-term objectives. As Project Director, you will be responsible for planning, organizing work, assigning tasks, managing resources, and closely tracking project progress. Beyond project management, your role encompasses identifying and assessing risks and opportunities, implementing preventive measures to minimize potential issues. You will also be in charge of formalizing contracts and agreements with service and material suppliers, actively monitoring compliance. In this leadership position, you will foster positive relationships with stakeholders and team members. Your role extends to leading and motivating coworkers, promoting employee engagement, and cultivating a high-performing managerial team.
Your tasks will also include, but are not limited to:
- Develop overall strategies in relation to market situations and the split of scope into manageable contracts
- Develop the conditions of contract and the functional requirements of the contract documents
- Enforce adherence to legal guidelines and in-house policies to maintain the company’s legality and business ethics
- Review financial and non-financial reports to devise solutions or improvements
The preferred candidate
The ideal candidate has a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field, preferably an advanced degree, as well as Project Management Professional (PMP) or Prince2 certification. Additionally, it is expected that you have at least 6 years of experience in project management, with a proven track record of successfully delivering large-scale infrastructure projects, preferably in the renewable energy sector. To fill this role, you must have a deep understanding of solar energy technologies, project development processes, and industry best practices, as well as being dedicated and persistent and have a systematic and structured approach to your tasks. Furthermore, you must hold an eye for details as well as have outstanding analytical and problem-solving skills.
As the new Project Director, it is essential that you possess an entrepreneurial mindset with outstanding organizational and leadership skills. Moreover, your ability to thrive in a dynamic environment is important for success in this role. This includes demonstrating resilience in the face of challenges, adapting quickly to changing circumstances, and maintaining a proactive and forward-thinking approach to project management. It is therefore expected that you take responsibility and find solutions by applying your commercial, technical and contractual knowledge and insights to support the project teams in developing the right commercial strategies.

- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with diverse stakeholders
- Demonstrated strategic thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities
- Proficiency in project management software and tools
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; both written and verbal
- Ability to collaborate closely with other team members on a wide variety of projects
- Solid computer skills and experienced in Microsoft Office incl. Power Point
