    • List of publications in peer-reviewed journals (no meeting abstracts, supply list in PubMed format)
    • First author presentations (up to six) at meetings (with co-authors and titles)
    • Motivation for attending this course (about 300 words)*
    • Research interests and background relevant for attending this Cajal course (about 300 words)*
    • Stipend requested (provide arguments for stipend, 200 words), if applicable
    • Two referees (Full name, e-mail)* (the referees will receive an e-mail asking them to support your application. Please make sure that your referees fill in the form that will be sent to them, as your application will be considered as incomplete if they don't.)

  • *This is an eligibility criteria for one of our partners' grant. This is the date when you obtrained your high school diploma/secondary school leaving certificate (e.g. Abitur, Baccalaureate, A-Levels) or, where applicable, university entrance test (e.g. SAT/ACT, PAU, YGS/LYS, Joint Entrance Examination etc.).

  • About 20 students will be selected to attend the CAJAL course and CAJAL stipends may be available in the form of waived registration fee, depending on external sponsorships.

    Participants are also encouraged to find their own funding via Associations, Societies, etc.

    Kindly note that if you benefited from a Cajal stipend in the past, you are no longer eligible to receive this type of funding. However other types of funding (such as partial travel grants from sponsors) might be made available after the participants selection process, depending on the course.

  • Indicate two referees. The referees will receive an email asking them to rate your application.

    It is important that you make sure that your referees:
    - are aware of your request for recommendation
    - received the email with the form 
    - fill in the form that will be sent to them

    If no form is submitted, your application will be considered as incomplete.

    The referees have until two days after the set applications deadline to fill in their form.
