  • Reactive Rehab Level 1

    Dread going for walks?
Embarrassed by your dogs out of control barking and lunging?
    We can help!

Regain control and learn how to help your four legged friend with our reactive rehab class. Resolving reactivity requires work on both ends of the leash. This class focuses on teaching helpful foundation skills, improving communication, and building confidence.

You will find understanding and support from your instructor and classmates who all appreciate the challenges of living with a reactive dog. We will work on identifying and understanding your dog's triggers, anticipating when a situation might turn south and practicing proactive management to prevent it. You will learn how to interrupt and calm your dog if she is already reacting and defensive handling skills to help keep both of you safe.

We will discuss the WHY behind your dog's behavior to help you understand what he is feeling and experiencing. We will then use that understanding to begin changing your dog's emotional response and to start to build positive associations with his triggers.

Reactive Rehab Level 1 is designed to give you the information you need to understand your dogs behavior and to teach both of you practical skills in a highly controlled environment. It is structured to be repeated as many times as needed, and the small class size allows you plentiful practice while ensuring you are appropriately challenged.

Once you have mastered the skills taught in Reactive Rehab Level 1, we encourage you to enroll in Reactive Rehab Level 2 where you will learn more advanced skills and have the opportunity to practice your Level 1 skills in more real-world situations.
