The Chamber as it exists today, was founded in 1935 by Alvin Braynen and is a member of the prestigious International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) as well as the International Organization of Employers (IOE). It is also the private sector representative of the International Labour Organization (ILO) in The Bahamas.
