Aloha, I am the Executive Director of Project Nehemiah Hawaii, a group that is passionately committed to preventing sexual exploitation, trafficking, and abuse.
This cause is deeply personal to us, and our motto is "Speak up and Speak out." We firmly believe that effective public awareness and outreach can shine a light on this abuse that too often goes unnoticed. We are seeking public support to gain access to Hawaii's Department of Education's public and private school campuses where we can educate children about the dangers of human trafficking, sexual exploitation, and child abduction.
Beyond the classroom, we also aim to create a highly visible, constant reminder of the reality of these dangers. We want to install permanent warning signs in community parks across the City and County of Honolulu; including recreational, picnic, and beach parks.
Every year thousands of people are affected by these cruel acts, with Hawaii ranking among the top 15 states in the U.S for active human trafficking cases according to the National Human Trafficking Hotline.
Project Nehemiah want to be at the forefront in combatting this. We need
3,500 signatures to show the State of Hawaii that our community stands
together against this issue.
Please, speak up and speak out with us, sign our petition and support our cause. Together, we can protect our children and our community from these unthinkable offenses.
Mahalo,
Christina Everett
