Every tournament you play earns you individual points toward the season-long Top Dog Race. Climb the leaderboard, win cash, prizes, medals, and earn the bragging rights of being crowned one of the Top Dog Champions of your level!

🔥 HOW IT WORKS
You collect points as an INDIVIDUAL (not as a team).
The more tournaments you play, the more chances you have to earn points and move up the leaderboard.
Leaderboards will be updated and posted after every TWO tournaments so everyone can see who's leading the pack.
You don't have to play them all - there are WINNERS awarded at each individual tournament. This is simply a BONUS for the regulars!

🏐 WHICH EVENTS COUNT?
Points can be earned at:
🐺 9 Tonic Top Dog Pack Series Tournaments
• May 30
• June 14
• June 20
• July 5 (M2, W2 & R2)
• July 18
• July 26
• August 8
• August 16
• August 29 – THE FINAL BARK
🏐 Cambie Sports Special Events
• May Days (May 24)
• Top Gun (June 7)
⚠️ Salmonfest will NOT count toward Top Dog points in 2026.
Last year it created major administrative challenges because of its size. Salmonfest will only be used as a tiebreaker if required.

🐺 HYBRID HOWL – September 6
A brand-new team format!
• Teams of 4 (2 Men + 2 Women)
• Women's height net
• One game to 31
First 10 points = W2 (or will poll if prefer R2)
Next 10 points = M2 (or will poll if prefer R2)
Final 11 points = Reverse 4's
One score. One team. Lots of strategy. Lots of cheering. Sponsors and extra special event excitement being incorporated to close off the season!
The community poll showed strong interest, so we're giving it a shot!

🏅 HOW POINTS ARE EARNED
Every division earns placement points:
🥇 1st = 9 points
🥈 2nd = 7 points
🥉 3rd = 5 points
4th = 3 points
5th = 2 points
6th = 1 point
PLUS bonus points based on division level.
B = 0–1 bonus points
A = 1–4 bonus points
A+ = 4–6 bonus points
AA = 6–8 bonus points
AAA = 8–10 bonus points
OPEN = 10–12 bonus points
The bonus points reward players for challenging themselves at higher levels and help discourage sandbagging. Your seeding and pool results matter, not just your playoff finish.

👑 WHO CAN BECOME A TOP DOG?
At the end of the season, the TOP 3 point earners in each division will be crowned:

2026 is the first year A+ has its own official Top Dog category!

Prizes from previous years have included custom apparel, volleyballs, water bottles, gift cards and more.
Across all divisions, over $1,050 cash plus additional prizes will be awarded.

⚖️ FAIR PLAY RULE
To win a division, you must have played the majority of your tournaments in that division and genuinely be that level.
For example, if a AAA or Open player occasionally joins friends in an A division event, that's totally fine. However, they cannot win the season-long Top Dog Championship in a division that is clearly below their true playing level.
Our goal is simple:

⚠️ 2025 TOP DOG UPDATE
We experienced a database issue that delayed the formal recognition of our 2025 Top Dog winners to this season.
The winners are being contacted in June and will receive their official presentations at an upcoming tournament, including complimentary entry.
Systems have been updated to ensure this never happens again and we are committed to making it right. Talk to Cindy if have concerns!
