The CBYCC provides all training, protective gear, basic tools, as well as all supervision and management. Each crew member is responsible for their own personal gear including sturdy pants, long- and short-sleeved shirts, an extra change of clothes, rain gear, hat, sunscreen, day pack, medications, snacks, lunch, water bottle, and good quality work boots that meet the following specifications at minimum:
- Lace up type design
- 6-inch top (top of boot to heel)
- Non-slip rubber lug sole (Vibram or similar) with decent tread for walking on dirt and mud.
- All leather or constructed from cut resistant material to protect from cuts when using tools.
