We, Combatants for Peace, and our partners invite you to leave your tables empty for one day as a commitment to freedom, dignity and life for the people of Gaza.
We are Palestinians, Israelis and international activists calling for an immediate and permanent ceasefire, a prisoner/hostage deal and freedom, equality and safety for all between the river and the sea.
We will not remain silent while children are being starved.
And we believe that true peace begins with nonviolent co-resistance to injustice.

🕊️ Why are we fasting?
Fasting and hunger strikes have historically been used as a powerful nonviolent tool for resisting injustice. Palestinians in Combatants for Peace who served time in Israeli jails, have participated in hunger strikes to demand their basic human rights, and so we follow their lead in this action.
Fasting is also a spiritual and symbolic ritual that many religions practice as a form of reflection and self examination. We invite all people of conscience to join us for this sacred act. To say loud and clear: “We refuse to continue as usual while starvation is being used to destroy an entire people.”
