ABOUT THE WORKSHOP: Get ready to wow your friends by making your very own clay earrings! In this live streaming video workshop with Craft Lake City, students will follow along at home on Zoom as Jacqueline Whitmore of Obnoxious Plastic provides an introduction to shaping and baking statement jewelry from polymer clay using two different techniques. Each attendee will leave this beginner-friendly class with two pairs of colorful earrings and the skills to make more clay creations!
SUPPLY KIT: The price of the workshop includes a clay jewelry supply kit, available for pickup on Tue., Mar. 16 from 9am-1pm and Wed., Mar. 17 between 2 p.m.- 6 p.m. at the Craft Lake City office (230 South 500 West Ste. 125, SLC, Utah 84101). Supply kits will include polymer clay in three colors (bluestone, bright green pearl and sea glass), a roller, wax paper, a hex drill bit, cutters, a plastic tile, earring loops and jump rings. NOTE: Attendees will need a cookie sheet and oven at home, as well as a computer or tablet with a strong internet connection. Delivery is not available for the supply kits.
ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR: Jacqueline believes there is no right or wrong way to create. Through her business Obnoxious Plastic, Jacqueline makes and sells polymer accessories that boast bold colors and playful patterns. A fashionista at heart, she also owns and operates Copperhive Vintage, a chic local shop specializing in vintage and retro finds. When she's not making jewelry, supporting Craft Lake City as an advisory board member, or working at the vintage shop, you can find Jacqueline advocating for body positivity and fat-positive spaces. If for any reason you are unable to attend a workshop for which you have purchased a ticket, we encourage you to transfer your ticket to a friend, family member, or another individual interested in attending the workshop in your place. The workshop will be recorded and shared with attendees after the class.
