Farm to Fashion™ is an initiative by (DE-FI) Global INC™, administered through Dayton Fashion Week™ and Fashion Week of Cincinnati™.
This hands-on educational initiative explores the journey from land, fiber, textile development, and natural materials to design, creation, sustainability, and innovation.
Rooted in Southwest Ohio, Farm to Fashion™ connects agriculture, STEM, sustainability, textiles, and fashion through interactive workshops and community-based learning experiences taking place throughout Dayton and Cincinnati.
Participants will explore:
- Soil, fiber, and natural materials
- Textile science and sustainability
- Botanical dyes and color systems
- Garment creation and construction
- Fashion beyond the runway
- The relationship between agriculture, industry, and design
(DE-FI) Global INC™ is a Midwest-based fashion incubator and workforce development initiative focused on building sustainable pathways across fashion, agriculture, STEM, textiles, manufacturing, and creative industries.
As Farm to Fashion™ has continued to develop, we have also taken time to listen closely to feedback from community members, educators, families, and prospective participants navigating rising transportation costs, economic uncertainty, and shifting schedules.
Because this initiative includes regional travel, outdoor learning, and hands-on experiences throughout Dayton and Cincinnati, portions of the original rollout timeline were intentionally adjusted to allow for a more accessible, sustainable, and community-conscious launch.
At (DE-FI), we believe meaningful infrastructure takes time. Rather than rushing the process, Farm to Fashion™ is being built with long-term accessibility, flexibility, and community realities in mind.
