I have read, understood & agreed to the studio guidelines, regulations, terms & conditions and acknowledge all information to be true and correct. I hereby confirm that my child or myself may enroll in dance, Vocal or Dramatic Theatre classes at Musical Theatre Cape Town and may take part in all activities.
The teachers under the umbrella of Musical Theatre Cape Town are of a standard which qualifies them to teach at the level of the class that you are participating in and, therefore, care is taken to provide you with quality and safe instruction. Nevertheless, accidents and unforeseen circumstances can occur. This agreement entails that you hereby give permission for yourself/your child to participate at Musical Theatre Cape Town. I fully understand and accept that all activities shall be undertaken at mine/my child's own risk. I hereby indemnify and absolve Vanessa Joubert and all staff against and from any claims whatsoever that may arise in connection with any accident, illness, damage or loss to the property of or death or injury to the person aforementioned. The owner and staff of the studio will nevertheless take all reasonable precautions for the safety and welfare of all students, to minimize any foreseeable risk of harm. As far as I know, he/she is physically capable of participating in physical activities and is in good health.
Furthermore, I undertake to pay tuition fees by the due date and accept liability for payment of a Minimum of 1 Full Term at a time. Notice must be in writing 30 days prior to terminating classes.
I acknowledge that there will be no credit or refund of fees should lessons be missed by my child or myself. I have read and understood the studio guidelines, regulations, terms & conditions and acknowledge all information to be true and correct.
Terms and Conditions:
- Our Term runs over 9 weeks
- We offer a discount to students who sign up and commit to paying termly.
- This payment is the full Payment for the Term through Payfast / Cred / Debit payment as a split payment over 2 or three Months
- Fees are compulsory for all classes, whether attended or not .
- All fees are payable the first class of the Term .
- Payments can be made via EFT, cash, or Purchased by Payfast on the Website under the Location Studio of your Choice. No refunds will be given.
- Please make provision for additional fees for competitions, examinations, shows, private/extra classes, solo’s/duets choreography, examination clothing and competition clothing. A Price list will be forwarded in February of every year.
- Students who have commited to,and fail to attend any events (competitions, festivals, examinations, shows) at the allocated time will forfeit the fee paid along with the Costume fee. Costume will be given to an Understudy.
- All choreography remains the intellectual property of Musical Theatre Cape Town and may not be used without Consent from Vanessa Joubert.
- No choreography may be copied from any other studio, teacher, or academy.
- No ideas from other dance academy, school, teacher, or student may be used in any of Musical Theatre CT choreographed pieces.
- Examination clothing (studio wear) is compulsory for all examinations and outings held under The Studio Name of Musical Theatre Cape Town.
Studio clothing may also be bought through The Costume Shop
- All Ages 4 to 6 may wear anything as long as its appropiate for Dance and movement purposes. Pre Schoolers can wear Fancy dress if they wish.
- The Studio and Class specific t-shirt is compulsory for all festival and the show prize giving.
- No lose jewellery is to be worn in dance classes as they cause distractions and can lead to injury.
- Dance Students are to be neatly groomed with hair fastened out of the face (with bobby pins).
- All dancers must respect each other and obey the instructor’s instructions in the classroom.
- No Student is to be heard trying to teach another child or remarking on their Dance ability.
- The Studio has the right to arrange for another teacher, to give the lesson if the instructor is unavailable.
- Students and their parents are liable for any damages caused to studio property.
- Please leave all valuables at home. Musical Theatre Cape Town ( Vanessa Joubert ) is not responsible for lost or stolen property.
- Lessons skipped by students must be paid for as class overheads are the same whether a student attends or not.
- No pupil will be allowed to dance unless all fees have been paid, unless otherwise arranged.
- Parents and siblings are only permitted to view during the last week of every term (Lesson 9 ). No trial lessons are available. Open Days are Special events we host for Friends and New Students.
- Rehearsals for the end of year concert, shows, competitions, eisteddfods, and examinations must have 85% attendance by pupils.
- Regular attendance is important to the progress of all classes.
- We reserve the right to cancel or postpone a Workshop. Less than 3 students.
- Cancellations from our side will not be billed
- Class and rehearsal schedules may be subject to change. You will be notified as promptly as possible.
- ONE MONTHS NOTICE must be given, including FULL PAYMENT for the notice month, in the event that the student will no longer be continuing with classes. Should you Return as a student and No Notice was given, The Notice Month will be payable prior to Re-Join
- Musical Theatre Cape Town reserves the right to refuse service to anyone.
- No extra classes will be given & no work will be revised for students who were absent for more than two classes. Dancers who miss more than 2 consecutive classes must arrange for a private lesson (at an extra fee) in order to catch up. or join up with a fellow student to catch up the work they have missed.
- Classes are not presented during school holidays or on public holidays. There may be extra classes, during public and school holidays as arranged beforehand by teacher.
- It is understood and agreed that all students take classes at their own risk and no liability shall be undertaken by the proprietors for injury or loss of personal belongings.
- In the event of a medical emergency, where a parent cannot be contacted, the guardian authorises Musical Theatre Cape Town to seek medical advice for the child.
- No responsibility will be taken for any students before or after their dance lessons. Parents are to collect their Children directly at the end of their class.
- All photographs or video's taken in class, competitions, festivals, or shows belong to the studio unless prior arrangements are made.
- Musical Theatre Cape Town reserves the right to use any photography or videos on the website and in marketing material, Unless request has been made by parent to not use their photos . See checkbox on Registration Form
- No parents or students may take any photographs or video recordings of an classes, unless otherwise arranged.We use Three year old and a Door Productiions for all our Media
- The studio logo may not be used by anyone without permission.
