Please know what you are getting into before reserving a puppy through Big House K9.
Puppies, are like babies, they are prone to crying, barking, and accidents, often occurring at inconvenient times and places, despite their upbringing or training. They demand attention, love, and consistent training and effort.
Prospective owners should be ready to invest frequent time throughout the day in caring for and engaging with their puppy. Regular grooming is essential, even though we strive to breed coats that are as manageable as possible. Doodles, with their long hair, necessitate regular grooming to prevent severe matting, which can lead to discomfort and pain for the dog.
Some puppies, may exhibit excitement urination, a behavior that typically diminishes as the puppy matures. While your puppy is young, anticipate this as a possibility.
It's important to understand that there is no such thing as a consistently "calm" puppy. Puppies, by nature, are high-energy beings. While energy levels may vary, no healthy puppy remains calm and quiet all the time. If you desire a consistently calm companion, considering an adult dog or a cat might be a better fit.
At Big House K9, we initiate the right training and impulse control for your puppy. If you maintain these practices, you'll witness your puppy develop into a lovely, calm, biddable, and easy-going adult, offering a rewarding bonding experience. Typically, it takes around 2 years for puppies to mature, mellow and reduce their puppy energy levels.
If you are not prepared for the responsibilities outlined above, we strongly advise against acquiring a puppy from any breeder not just Big House K9.
At Big House K9, there are no automatic refusals for first-time puppy owners, families with small children, or those living in apartments/condos. Each applicant is considered individually, evaluating the overall suitability for puppy ownership.
