Purpose of Grants
Church Mission and Ministry grants are available to EBA congregations. These resources are dedicated for church planting, church revitalization, leadership development, gospel-centered community transformation and emergencies.
Grants are not for personnel expenses but could be used towards a sabbatical. It is not for buildings except repair emergencies. The Church Mission and Ministry grant awards are often seed funds for new ministries or projects. Congregations may submit for subsequent or greater support to be considered and evaluated by the leadership team. In an effort to promote networking and partnership among the
churches of Ellis Baptist Association, the grant funds will be applied for as an individual church or as a group partnering on a project or event. The limits for funds are as follows:
Individual church - $500
Sabbatical - $1,000
2 churches - $1,500
3 churches - $2,250
4 churches - $3,000
5 churches - $4,000
6+ churches - $5,000
Emergency - $3,000
Applicants
Eligibility for Church Mission and Ministry grants are limited to EBA churches who are current and in full membership with EBA (regularly gives to the association). Groups must have an application for each church in the group and one church that is selected as the Primary representative for the group, to whom the funds will be distributed.
Requirements
The application must include:
• Completed Grant Application form for each individual church and/or group that is applying.
• A description of the proposed program/activity including: a statement about
the aims and purposes of the project; a rationale for the project; the target audience/
constituency; and statistical or authoritative evidence indicating how the program/
activity matches with the stated purposes of the Church Mission and Ministry
grant.
• A program budget showing income and expenses projected for the project,
including other identified sources of funding.
• A summary of how the outcomes will be assessed and measured.
Conditions
Grants offerred are subject to your agreement to:
• Use the grant funds only as specified in the approved grant proposal.
• Refrain from use of the funds for any purposes prohibited by law.
• Maintain records to show and account for the uses of grant funds.
• Comply with reasonable requests for information about program activities.
• Repay any portion of the funds not used for the specified purposes.
• Provide a written report and photos of project, showing community impact.
