    We are excited to welcome new students to our Young Discoverers After School Care Programme (7-12 years old). This registration form is exclusively for new enrolments.

    If your child is already part of DiscoverDeen, please use the continuation/re-registration form available through ClassDojo.

    Please note that completing this form should take approximately 15 minutes, and we recommend using a stable internet connection on a phone or laptop for the best experience.

    We’ve made the process as simple as possible. You will need the following documents to complete your registration smoothly:

    • Copy of Child’s Birth Certificate / Passport
    • Child’s Photo (for identification purposes)

  • Programme Overview

    1. What is the Young Discoverers After School Care Programme?
      The programme offers a holistic Islamic learning experience in a supportive environment after school hours, blending education with engaging activities.

    2. Who is the programme suitable for?
      It’s designed for children aged 7 to 12 who are keen to learn Islamic values, Quranic teachings, and participate in creative, faith-centered activities.

    3. What are the main components of the programme?
      - Quranic Literacy: Iqra'/Qur'an reading 
      - Islamic Studies
      - Interactive Holiday Programmes
      - Outdoor Games

    4. Are the activities age-appropriate?
      Yes, all activities are tailored to the developmental needs of children in the specified age group.

    5. Is the programme conducted in English?
      Yes, all classes and activities are conducted in English.

    6. What are the assessment components?
      - Daily Quranic Literacy: Iqra'/Qur'an reading
      - Solat Literacy: Practical and theoretical understanding
      - Islamic Studies: Written assessment

    7. Will there be help with school homework?
      Teachers will remind/supervise students to complete any homework/spelling for the day. However, parents must also work together with teachers to ensure it is done.

    Daily Requirements & Personal Items

    • Sleeping Bag: Each child should bring a sleeping bag for naptime, which will remain at the centre during the week.

    • Water Bottle: Children are encouraged to bring a refillable water bottle to stay hydrated throughout the day.

    • Personal Telekung (for girls): Girls are advised to bring a compact telekung for daily use during Solat sessions.

    • Stationery: Please provide your child with basic stationery (e.g., pencils, erasers) for Islamic studies and other written activities.

    • Extra Clothing:
      For children attending 5 days a week, you may leave one week's worth of clothing at the centre for convenience. Please label all clothes clearly with your child's name.
    • For Boys:
      ✔ 1 top
      ✔ 1 bottom (please bring long track pants or comfortable loose pants)
      ✔ 1 underwear

    • For Girls:
      ✔ 1 top
      ✔ 1 bottom
      ✔ 1 undergarment
      ✔ 1 hijab & hijab cap

    • Personal Items Storage: Each child will have a designated space to store their personal belongings such as sleeping bags and extra clothing. Proper labelling is essential to avoid mix-ups.

    Items to Avoid Bringing

    Valuables: We recommend not sending children with valuable items such as toys, electronics, or jewellery, as the centre will not be responsible for any loss or damage.
     

    Schedule & Flexibility

    1. Is there a specific timetable for the programme?
      Yes, the programme follows a structured timetable with activities scheduled on different weekdays.

    2. Can my child join the programme on specific days of the week?
      Yes, parents can choose specific days based on their child’s availability.

    3. Can my child attend irregularly, or is attendance on specific days mandatory?
      Attendance on specific days is mandatory. However, if parents are working shifts and would like to rotate their child’s attendance, this can be discussed and informed earlier before starting the arrangement. Do note that your child may miss out on certain lessons.

    4. Is the programme open year-round?
      Yes, the programme operates during school holidays and PSLE examination days, except for MOE-scheduled holidays like Teacher's Day, Children's Day, and Youth Day.

     

    Early Pick-Up and Dismissal Information

    1. Can I fetch my child earlier?
      Yes, you can fetch your child earlier by sending a WhatsApp message to inform us.

    2. What time do curriculum hours end?
      Curriculum hours usually end by 5:30 pm.

    3. What if I can only fetch my child at 7:00 pm?
      Please notify our teachers if you need to fetch your child at 7:00 pm so that we can arrange supervision until then.

    4. What happens if I’m late for pick-up?
      Pick-up after 7:00 pm will incur a fee of $1 per minute. The penalty fee must be paid in cash or PayNow to our UEN upon fetching.

    5. What about during Ramadan?
      During Ramadan, the centre will have early dismissal, and students must be fetched by 5:30 pm daily.

    Transport Matters

    Is transportation available for students attending the programme?

    Fees & Payment Terms

    1. How much is the monthly fee?
      5 Days: $400
      3 Days: $280
      2 Days: $200

    2. Is there a discount for siblings or families with multiple children enrolled?
      No, there is no sibling discount. However, families enrolling more than one child will receive one free uniform and will not be charged a registration fee.


    3. Are there any additional fees throughout the year?
      In addition to the monthly programme fee, there may be additional costs throughout the year. These include:

      - Material Costs: For any special workshops or activities that may require        additional resources.
      - Ad-Hoc Transport Fees: For transport arranged on an as-needed basis, particularly during school holidays.

    4. Ad Hoc Rate: For parents requiring occasional or ad hoc care, a rate of $20 per day will be applicable. This rate is designed to cover operational expenses and is payable at the time of service.

    When and how should fees be paid?

    • Monthly Fees: The monthly programme fee is payable between the 5th and 25th of each month. Payment is accepted via PayNow only.

    • Invoicing: A detailed invoice for the monthly fees will be sent to your registered email on the 1st of each month.

    • Additional Fees: Extra meal fees, material costs, ad-hoc transport fees, and event fees will be invoiced as they arise. 

    • Late Payment: A $20 late fee will be applied to payments made after the 25th of the month. 
      *This is to ensure operational efficiency, manage cash flow effectively, and cover administrative costs associated with late payments.

    Uniform Requirements

    1. Will there be a uniform?
      Yes, parents are advised to purchase a minimum of 3 dri-fit shirts for daily wear at the centre.

    2. How strict are the uniform guidelines? Are alternatives allowed?
      Students must wear the DiscoverDeen dri-fit top at the centre. There are no alternatives allowed.

    Meals & Nutrition

    1. Are meals provided at the centre?
      Yes, meals are provided at the centre. We offer a nutritious lunch to ensure that students are well-fed and energised throughout their time at the programme. If your child has any dietary restrictions or allergies, please inform us in advance so we can accommodate their needs.
      *Additionally, on days when the centre opens at 7:00 am, breakfast will be provided.

    2. How do you handle food allergies or special dietary restrictions?
      We will avoid including those allergens in the menu. For example, if it's egg, we will prepare an eggless meal.

    Assessment and Progress Tracking

    • Parents must ensure their child participates in daily Quranic literacy and monitor progress using the Quranic tracker sheet provided by the centre.
    • Regular feedback will be provided to parents regarding their child’s progress.


    What are the withdrawal terms?

    • Notice Period: You must submit the online withdrawal form before the 1st of the month in which you wish to withdraw.

    • Outstanding Fees: Any outstanding fees must be cleared before the withdrawal is processed.

    • Fees Paid for December: Fees paid for December of that year will be used to offset the last attending month.

    • Refund Policy: There is no refund policy for fees paid.

    Emergency Procedures

    • Parents must provide up-to-date emergency contact information.
    • In the event of an emergency, parents will be contacted using the provided details.

    Confidentiality

    • All personal information will be kept confidential and shared only with necessary staff.


    Compliance with Policies

    Parents agree to comply with all programme policies and support the educational goals of the centre.

    The centre reserves the right to adjust these terms and conditions as necessary.


    Important Considerations

    • Group Environment: Ensure your child is comfortable with group settings and structured activities.

    • Language and Communication: Ensure your child is comfortable with English as the primary language of instruction.

    • Special Needs: Please note that our teachers are not specially trained to handle special needs, and the centre is not equipped for children with special needs.


    Parental Responsibilities

    Parents are expected to:

    • Ensure their child arrives at the programme on time.
    • Inform the centre of any changes in pick-up arrangements.
    • Communicate any health concerns or special needs to the staff.


    Behavioural Expectations

    We expect all children to:

    • Respect each other and the staff.
    • Follow instructions during activities.
    • Maintain a positive attitude and contribute to a friendly environment.


    How do you handle misbehaviour or discipline?

    Teachers will step in and advise accordingly. If the issue is serious and includes violence, we will investigate thoroughly and follow up with parents as needed. We will also try to prevent recurrence by putting certain protocols in place.


    Health and Safety Guidelines

    Parents must ensure that children do not attend the programme if they are unwell. If a child becomes ill during the programme, parents will be notified immediately.

    Feedback and Communication

    Parents are encouraged to provide feedback or raise concerns about the programme. We value your input and strive to maintain open communication.

    Are there opportunities for parents to be involved or receive updates?

    Yes, we use the ClassDojo app to update every week about your child's activities and lessons. Parents also receive real-time updates on their child's Quranic literacy progress via Google Docs.


    Holiday Programmes

    What kind of activities will be offered during school holidays?

    During holidays, we plan fun activities involving outdoor sessions, learning through play, creative activities, and extra supplementary lessons to strengthen Solat/Quranic literacy.

    Communication Channels

    How do I stay in touch with my child’s teacher or receive updates?

    You can use the ClassDojo app to communicate with the class teacher or WhatsApp the centre manager at 89505704.

    Trial Period

    Can my child try the programme before committing?

    Yes, you may sign up for our ad-hoc holiday programme during school holidays to get a taste of what it will be like.

  • What is deposit?

    The deposit is the payment made in advance before the start of the new school year. If no withdrawal occurs, it will be applied towards covering the December 2026 fees.
