THE WHO, THE WHAT, THE WHEN AND THE WHERE:
TRIO Talent Search (TS) invites you to be a part of our summer STEM camp experience (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) on the Southwestern Community College Campus (SWCC)! All TS students, grades 7-11th, are invited to apply.

How to attend: Student and a parent/guardian need to complete and sign the STEM camp form. Incomplete applications will not be accepted. Limited space available. This event is on a first come, first serve basis. Once you submit your permission form, you will receive a confirmation post card in the mail. If you do not receive the confirmation postcard, that means we did not receive your permission form.
About the Event: Free! Students can attend morning or afternoon sessions where they will focus on the field of robotics and will get to build and launch their own model rocket. NO EXPERIENCE NEEDED. STEM camp will provide unique opportunities for students to learn engineering design, scientific process, technological literacy, and mathematics in contexts that students find engaging and understand. Lunch and transportation will be provided if needed.
Other information: School rules apply to this trip. Students should wear comfortable clothing, walking shoes and a coat or jacket. No short shorts, short skirts, baggy pants, baggy jeans or tank tops will be allowed. Absolutely no foul or derogatory language will be allowed at any time. Students will not be allowed to smoke or vape. Failure to comply with any of these rules will result in dismissal from the trip and parents will be contacted to pick up the student from our location. What You Need to Know:
This is a FREE event, lunch will be provided each day. No money will be needed unless students are interested in purchasing from vending machines. Students participating in this event will have a fun, week- long event building robots and shooting off rockets. If we are running off schedule, cell phones will be available for students to notify their parents of updated arrival/return times.
WARNING: If you sign up to attend a TRIO TS event and do not show up and do not call to let us know, you will not be allowed to attend another campus visit or cultural trip for the rest of the current semester and the following semester. Please call 641-782-1392 if you cannot make it.
