  • Equestrian WA Coach Survey 2024

  • The EWA Coaching Committee is holding their annual Coach Up- Date clinic on Monday, 11 March 2024, at the State Equestrian Centre Brigadoon.

The purpose of this email is to invite you, as a current coach to have input into the clinic’s morning session.

As you are aware Equestrian coaching can be is an isolated profession with little or no opportunity to share issues, challenges or discuss clever ideas with other coaches.

Our sport, like so many others, is experiencing changing issues such as ‘the competitive parent syndrome’, coach and official abuse, social license around the riding of horses in sport, social media for self-promotion, business promotion and as a forum for cyber bullying along with many other issues.  At the same time, we have many wonderful coaches doing amazing things with riders and horses that we feel could also be show-cased at this clinic.

To obtain your feedback we invite you to complete the attached Survey to assist the EWA coaching committee determine the major challenges facing equestrian coaches in WA so we can discuss some of the most pressing issues.

The idea is to identify from the survey the major issues and discuss these at the clinic through ‘breakout groups’ which will be facilitated by a member of the coaching committee.

We value your ideas and want this coaching update clinic to be interactive and of benefit to everyone who attends.

    Thank you for your participation.
