ESHS Creative Industries Academy Application Form - 2027 Intake
  • Please note the below form must be completed in full for your child's application to be considered.

    To complete this application process you will need the following:

    • A copy of two most recent school report cards
    • Year 5 NAPLAN Results
    • Digital evidence to upload of chosen Academy. (see below for more details of portfolio/audition requirement)

  • Important Information – Academy Applications and Fees

    Step 1: Submit Application

    • If your child lives outside the school’s catchment area, a $100 Out of Catchment School Fee (non-refundable) is required when submitting the application.
    • This fee is separate from the Academy Fee and applies regardless of the outcome.
    • After the application due date, families will be notified of scheduled audition or testing dates.


    Step 2: Offer of Position

    If your child is offered a place in the Academy and you accept, you will move to the full enrolment process.


    Step 3: Complete Enrolment Paperwork

    Families will need to complete:

    • All school enrolment paperwork, and
    • All Academy-specific paperwork, including attending an enrolment session if required.

    Step 4: Academy Fee

    Upon accepting an Academy position, the $250 Academy Fee (non-refundable) becomes payable.
    This fee is only due once a position has been offered and accepted.

  • Audition and Portfolio Guidelines

  • Number the Creative Industries majors you are applying for in order of preference. You may submit applications for up to TWO Creative Industries subjects.

  • Creative Industries Auditions and Workshops

    In-person auditions and workshops will be held on Tuesday 2nd June 2026 at Elanora SHS.

    Please note that Music will also have an additional session on Thursday 4th June to accommodate students.

    Please note the following information;

    Dance

    Participate in a practical dance class that will explore any combination of jazz, hip hop, lyrical and contemporary dance.  Please be prepared in appropriate dance attire.

    Music

    Part A

    1.  Play one short song (maximum of 1 minute)
    2. Play 1 or 2 scales (or differing drum patterns)
    3. Engage in a short interview with the Music Teacher

    Part B

    Engage in a group music/rhythm activity with other Academy Music Auditionees.

  • Drama

    Participate in drama workshops exploring various elements of drama and improvisation.  Students may prepare a short monologue to perform if they wish.

    Visual Art and Media

    Participate in teacher directed workshops that explore the elements of art and showcase student skills across a variety of mediums.

     

    Digital Portfolios (description of how they are to be submitted and labelled)

    File name must be saved as follows: 

    • Academy Major
    • Student Name   example dancekerrylewis.mp4

    Dance

    Perform two (2) solo items of your choice in contrasting genres, maximum 1 minute per routine. For example, jazz and lyrical or cheer and hip hip.  Students are encouraged to use dance pieces that are choreographed by their dance teacher where possible.

    Drama

    Perform one (1) monologue of appropriate content for their age. If desired, props and costumes are welcome.

     

    Music (vocal OR instrumental)

    1. Recording of 1 or 2 short songs (or song snippets)

    2. Play 1 or 2 scales (or differing drum patterns)

    3. Verbally answer the following questions:

    • How long have you been playing your instrument?
    • Do you play any other instruments?
    • What do you especially like about playing/making music?
    • Have you created your own music before?
    • Have you created your own music before?
    • Would you be interested in developing this skill (creating music)?

    Visual Art

    A portfolio of art works featuring at least two (2) different mediums. For example, drawing/sculpture/painting.

    Answer the following Questions (written document);

    1.      What is your preferred art medium & why? (sculpture, drawing, painting etc)

    2.      Do you make Art in your own time?

    3.      Who is your favourite artist & why?

    Media Art

    A portfolio of digital works featuring at least two (2) different mediums.  For example: photography, photoshop manipulation, animation, film.

    Answer the following Questions (written document);

    1.      What is your preferred art medium & why? (photoshop, animation, film etc)

    2.      Do you make Media in your own time?

    3.      Who is your favourite artist/creator & why?
