  • Membership Requirements

  • MEMBERS: Members represent and are accountable to the Board of Directors of Friends of Lake Jackson (FOLJ). Like a board member, a member has a responsibility to act with care and loyalty to the organization. These members shall report directly under the Board of Directors and represent the general FOLJ membership. All members, board members and officers shall:

    1. Be at least 18 years of age or older.
    2. Serve as a representative of the FOLJ upholding and emulating appreciation and respect for our lake, park, and wetlands.
    3. Participate in the execution and presentation of events sponsored by the organization under the direction of the board.
    4. Attend not less than 75% of regularly scheduled meetings to maintain membership.
    5. Volunteer at sponsored events at least two (2) times during a calendar membership year.

    Membership requires not only dues of $25.00 per calendar year or $1,000.00 lifetime, it also requires that I meet the expectations and requirements specified throughout this document (unless previously discussed). I understand that if I fail to maintain and perform the minimum requirements of being a Member, my membership may be terminated by the board of directors.

  • Becoming a sponsor of Friends of Lake Jackson is a unique way to support our cause without the obligation of maintaining the membership requirements, as we understand that many of you are already committed to other organizations or may not be local to our community. All donations of $100 or more in a calendar year will be recognized as a Friends of Lake Jackson sponsor in our annual calendar.
