CoacHER Program – Membership Application Overview

Football Victoria's CoacHER Program is designed to attract, support and retain female coaches across all levels of football in Victoria.

While the number of female coaches continues to grow, women remain underrepresented in coaching. Currently there is only 15% female coaches in VIC.

CoacHER was launched in 2025 to create more intentional opportunities for women and girls to get involved in coaching, connect with a supportive network of like-minded coaches, access coach education and development opportunities, and help shape the future of football in Victoria.

By becoming a CoacHER member, you will join a growing community of coaches and will receive regular updates on upcoming coaching courses, workshops, networking events, mentoring opportunities, professional development initiatives and much more designed to support your coaching journey.

This application form helps us better understand who you are, where you are on your coaching journey and what support you may need to achieve your coaching goals. Whether you are taking your first steps into coaching, currently coaching at a club, or have been coaching for years and are aspiring to progress into higher levels of the game, we want to learn more about you and connect you with opportunities that support your development.

As part of the program, Football Victoria works with a range of funding partners to provide subsidised or funded coaching courses and development opportunities throughout the year. These opportunities are dependent on available funding, which may have specific eligibility criteria and will be clearly communicated to members when available.

Through CoacHER, we aim to provide coach education opportunities in both female-only and mixed-gender learning environments, recognising that coaches have different preferences. Where possible, coaches will be able to access opportunities in the environment that best supports their learning.

Together, we can create more visible pathways for female coaches and build a stronger, more inclusive future for football in Victoria.

Eligibility Criteria

To become a CoacHER member, applicants must:

Identify as female or gender-diverse

Be aged 14 years or older

Live and coach (or plan to coach) in Victoria

Hold a valid Working with Children Check (WWCC) if 18 years or older

Complete and submit this application form

Please note: Funded coaching courses, workshops and development opportunities may have additional eligibility requirements. Funding cannot be used to reimburse current or previously completed coaching courses.
