The Funds

Fab Academy Program allocates every year a portion of funds to cover partial scholarships for students in need of economic support.

The funds rely on the total number of students that register each year, there for the results of the Scholarship usually are communicated later on in the Application process, in early January.

Granting a Scholarship for Fab Academy must be agreed by all parties involved: The local Lab offering the scholarship, Fab Academy Coordination and the Student.

How does the Program work?

Fab Academy fees are comprised of 2 parts: local costs and central costs. See Cost Breakdown Structure.

Scholarships must be an agreement between Central Coordination and the Local Lab (Node) to ensure the costs are balanced between central and local costs. If we reduce a portion of central costs, local costs must be reduced proportionally.

For this reason, before requesting a scholarship you must select a Node first and apply to the Fab Academy program.

Fab Academy does not grant 100% scholarships.

Deadlines

Before granting a Scholarship to a student, the scholarship application must be reviewed by Fab Academy Coordination.

All application forms for scholarships must be submitted before December 20th. After revision of the submissions, Fab Academy Coordination will evaluate them with local Lab instructors. Fab Academy Coordination will communicate the results to the student.

Scholarship Conditions
- Students with scholarships must have full dedication to the program
- Students with scholarships must attend to 80% of classes and all Regional Reviews
- Students with scholarships must finish the course in the 1st Evaluation Round (July)
- Students with scholarships must comply with all payment deadlines
- Students with scholarships cannot defer their grant for the following years
- If students discontinue the course, the scholarship will be terminated
