Fair Acres Summer Camp Counselor-in-Training (CIT) Program Application
For CITs Entering 8th or 9th Grade
Please complete this application thoughtfully and honestly. Selection into the CIT program is competitive and based on maturity, responsibility, interest in working with children, and readiness to learn. The Counselor-in-Training (CIT) program is designed for rising 8th and 9th graders who are interested in developing leadership skills and learning what it takes to be a camp counselor. CITs will have the opportunity to join various age groups and assist counselors with daily activities, help supervise campers, and serve as positive role models. At Fair Acres, this program is designed as a "summer-long job interview," with the intention of hiring interested and qualified CIT candidates as counselors the following summer. Through hands-on experience, teamwork, and guided mentorship, CITs build responsibility, communication skills, and confidence while having fun and contributing to a supportive camp community. CITs will also have the opportunity to help plan specialty days, participate in "Fun Fridays," and attend a CIT-exclusive sleepover to celebrate their hard work and commitment. Fair Acres is seeking CITs who are willing to commit to the full 7-week program, though we still encourage all interested applicants to apply.
