FLATHEAD LUTHERAN BIBLE CAMP DAY CAMP GUIDELINES
By inviting Flathead Lutheran Bible Camp staff to provide a Day Camp program for your congregation and community, the following health, safety, and liability policies are agreed upon by both the camp and the congregation.
Pre-registration is HIGHLY RECOMMENDED - the congregation will let FLBC know two weeks prior to their Day Camp the number of campers registered. Please call or email FLBC's Day Camp Coordinator, Elizabeth, at (406) 334-6924 or elizabeth@flbc.net with this information.
1. The camper/staff ratio will be 1 counselor for every 10 campers. If more campers register than the ratio, the congregation is responsible for providing additional qualified leadership (age 16 or older).
2. Registration/Medical forms will be completed and turned in to the congregation on the first day of camp. A copy of all forms will be kept by the congregation, and a copy will be brought back to FLBC.
3. The Camp staff will not transport campers in camp vehicles for any reason.
4. When at all possible, a congregational coordinator and one adult volunteer will be on-site at all times to be available to help when needed; especially in case of emergency.
5. Emergency telephone numbers (ambulance, fire, police, poison control, etc will be posted near a phone in the facility which is available to staff in case of an emergency. The congregation will strive to have a First Aid Kit and AED at its facility.
6. Parents and congregational staff are responsible for campers immediately after Day Camp. In the event that campers are left at the church the Congregational Coordinator is responsible for campers.
7. All Camp Staff are expected to return to FLBC no later that 8:00 pm on Friday.
8. Day Camp Staff will be responsible for leading up to 6 hours of programming for campers each day.
9. All accidents must be reported to the FLBC Day Camp Coordinator and an accident report must be filled out.
10. FLBC does background checks on all of its personnel, and recommends to the congregation that all volunteers have a background check prior to Day Camp. FLBC is not responsible for background checking congregation volunteers.
11. FLBC and the congregation, in consultation with the FLBC Executive Director, may decide to postpone Day Camp at any time.
