  • Auditions

    Auditions for the musical Jersey Boys are in 45 minute intervals on: Saturday, February 8 from 2 pm through 5 pm and Sunday, February 9 from 2 pm through 5 pm. The audition location will be in the Warrenton, Virginia area.
  • Plot Synopsis

    With phenomenal music, memorable characters, and great storytelling, JERSEY BOYS follows the fascinating evolution of four blue-collar kids who became one of the greatest successes in pop-music history. Winner of Best Musical at both the Tony Awards® and Olivier Awards®, JERSEY BOYS takes us behind the music of Frankie Valli and The Four Seasons to discover the secret of a 40-year friendship as the foursome work their way from the streets of New Jersey to the heights of stardom. Audiences will be thrilled by electrifying performances of chart-topping hits including “Sherry,” “Big Girls Don’t Cry,” “Can’t Take My Eyes Off You,” “Dawn,” and “My Eyes Adored You,” which brought The Four Seasons the highest honor: induction into the Rock ‘n’ Roll Hall of Fame.
  • Audition Roles

    All roles are open to audition for. Note that this is a community theatre production and all roles are as volunteers with no monetary compensation. The following is a list of the characters. Note there will be a moderately sized ensemble as well.
  • **Frankie Valli**: (Strong Tenor/Falsetto, Appears 20-35)
    Seeking a dynamic actor and vocalist to portray the lead singer of The Four Seasons, serving as one of the show’s four narrators. Must emulate Frankie Valli's singing style and excel in four-part harmonies. Character is charismatic, charming, and has a gritty edge.
    **Vocal Range**: C3 to G5 - Strong tenor to high A/Bb with a strong falsetto up to G5.

    **Tommy DeVito**: (Strong Tenor/Baritone, Appears 30-40)
    Co-founder of The Four Seasons, narrating the band’s early struggles and connections. Looking for a natural leader with a charming bad-boy persona and a good sense of humor. Must be comfortable with four-part harmonies. Preferential casting for an actor that is also an excellent guitar player (electric). 
    **Vocal Range**: C3 to C5.

    **Nick Massi**: (Strong Bass/Baritone, Appears 30-40)
    A serious member of The Four Seasons, feeling disillusioned by internal band conflicts. Seeking a quiet, introspective performer with a deadpan delivery who can handle four-part harmonies. Preferential casting for an actor that is also an excellent bass guitar player (electric). 
    **Vocal Range**: E2 to E4.

    **Bob Gaudio**: (Strong Tenor/Baritone, Appears 20-35)
    The band’s key songwriter, instrumental in their success. Looking for an intelligent, sensitive, and introspective musical talent who is comfortable with four-part harmonies. Preferential casting for an actor that is also an excellent pianist.
    **Vocal Range**: Bb2 to Db5.

    **Joe Pesci & Others**: (Strong Tenor, Appears 20-35)
    Seeking a versatile actor and vocalist to portray young, energetic, and comedic characters across various roles.
    **Vocal Range**: C3 to E5.

    **Barry Belson & Others**: (Strong Tenor, Appears 20-49)
    Looking for a strong actor and vocalist with a rhythm-and-blues flair for multiple roles, including friends and producers of the band.
    **Vocal Range**: Bb2 to G5 - Strong tenor to high C with falsetto up to G5.

    **Bob Crewe**: (Tenor/Baritone, Appears 30-40)
    The innovative producer essential to The Four Seasons' identity. Seeking a strong actor who can portray an intelligent and flamboyant character.
    **Vocal Range**: Bb2 to Db5.

    **Norm Waxman**: (Strong Tenor/Baritone, Appears 35-50)
    Owner of a private money lending agency and Tommy's brother, among other roles. Looking for a strong actor and vocalist.
    **Vocal Range**: B2 to Bb4.

    Nick DeVito & Others**: (Strong Tenor/Baritone, Appears 20-35)
    Looking for a strong actor and vocalist who works well in a fast-paced ensemble.
    **Vocal Range**: B2 to Bb4.

    **Gyp DeCarlo**: (Strong Baritone, Appears 45-55)
    A tough mob boss with close ties to Tommy and Frankie. Seeking a strong actor and vocalist who can embody a Mafioso persona.
    **Vocal Range**: C3 to G#4.

    **Mary Delgado & Others**: (Strong Mezzo-Soprano, Appears 20-39)
    Frankie Valli's wife, a tough, street-smart Italian-Jersey girl with a great sense of humor. Seeking a strong vocalist and dancer who can also portray various roles, including a member of a 60s-style girl group.
    **Vocal Range**: Bb3 to G5.

    **Lorraine & Others**: (Appears 20-35)
    Frankie’s educated girlfriend, not from Jersey. Looking for a strong vocalist and dancer who can portray a young, career-oriented woman, as well as other roles, including a member of a 60s-style girl group.
    **Vocal Range**: Bb3 to F5.

    **Francine & Others**: (Appears 20-37)
    Frankie’s daughter, a vulnerable Jersey girl seeking attention. Looking for a strong vocalist and dancer who can take on various roles, including a member of a 60s-style girl group.
    **Vocal Range**: Bb3 to G5.

    **Ensemble**:
    Seeking 2 female-presenting and 6 male-presenting ensemble members to portray diverse characters, including French rap stars, detectives, church ladies, and more.
    **Vocal Range**: Various.


  • Audition Preparation

    Our auditions are going to be fun and full of opportunities to shine. We are looking for performers wanting to show their stuff - so bring it all in as you sing and dance in front of and with your fellow actors. As our Director likes to say, “For many of you, the Audition is our First Rehearsal.” Prepare a verse and chorus of an appropriate song (do your research - we love it when actors have thought about the show!) Up to two minutes. A Bluetooth speaker for your accompanying music will be available as well as an accompanist. If you can play a listed instrument - electric guitar, bass, or piano - you are encouraged to bring it to demonstrate (instruments are also available on-site). In addition, we will have direct ability exercises and other elements that do not require prep work. Callbacks will include specific songs (music and sheet music will be provided), a basic dance audition, and a short interview Please wear comfortable clothing, and appropriate footwear, bring water, and expect to be there for the entire audition block. Please note, you MUST be 18 by the time of our first performance in May 2025 to be considered for this cast.

  • Rehearsals and Schedules for the musical "JERSEY BOYS"

    Many cast members may be required to attend 3-4 rehearsals per week prior to Tech Week and every day during Tech Week. The set will be struck following the last matinee performance, and ALL cast members and parents are required to assist. You MUST commit to ALL rehearsals during Tech Week and ALL performances. Your availability for rehearsals will GREATLY influence your chances of receiving a part. Please LIST any prior commitments (regular or occasional) starting with the day after callbacks that may conflict with the rehearsal schedule. Our team is committed to scheduling all rehearsals and important dates in advance and we will not waste your time - we know you have busy lives. The rehearsal schedule will be generated immediately after casting, based on the conflicts you list in this audition form, so please be very specific. We are starting with a BANG and running hard until our performances. Performance Dates in 2025 are on Fridays and weekends May 2 - 18 at the Vint Hill Theater on the Green located at 4225 Aiken Drive, Warrenton, VA.   • Fauquier Community Theatre Policies

    Please note the following FCT policies:·If you are cast, you are required to become a member of FCT. Yearly Membership dues are $25 for an individual or $50 for a family, which includes all adults living in your immediate household. (This is the minimum; higher membership levels have extra benefits and are encouraged!) Membership dues are preferred to be made online or a check payable to Fauquier Community Theatre may be given to the Producer. Please consider donating more than the fee. You will receive lunch at the annual meeting and comp tickets for further levels of membership. FCT has a zero tolerance policy toward sexual harrassment and abuse and may conduct background checks.There is no smoking, vaping, drug use, or drinking alcoholic beverages at any time in the theatre, dressing room trailer, or any rehearsal location. You may not smoke or eat at any time while in costume, indoors or outdoors. Adherence to the policies of Fauquier County Department of Parks and Recreation and to those of our rehearsal hosts is expected of all participants.It is the responsibility of all participants to assure that all aspects of the production are conducted in a safe manner. Participation in this production is strictly voluntary. The participant agrees to hold harmless and indemnify Fauquier Community Theatre - Story Painters, Inc., its Board of Directors, employees, and associated representatives from any and all claims, judgments or settlements resulting from the participant’s involvement in any rehearsals or performances of this show.
