  • Health Questionnaire

  • Please read the following statements and answer them truthfully.

Please make your Artist aware of any medical conditions or medications/ antibiotics that you are currently taking.

  • OBLIGATIONS

  • Treatment Information:

  • Microblading: Microblading is a manual, semi-permanent technique of realistic eyebrow tattooing in which the shape of the eyebrows is determined by the facial morphology and golden mean ratio.

The shape is calculated using various methods including digital application. Pictures are taken before during and after the treatments and securely stored on your personal file.

The colour is determined by taking your own hair colour,  brow colour and skin undertones into account in order to give the most natural results.

Strokes are gently scratched into the skin using pigment to implant it into the outer most layers. Usually no prenumbing cream is used, a topical anesthetic can be used after the first pass to numb the already broken skin.

For good treatment success and colour retention, the skin to be treated must be in good condition and not damaged or in the regeneration process, i.e. eczema, dermatitis, acne, etc.

    Eyelash Enhancement:

Ink is deposited using tattoo machine to create the illusion of a thicker lash line or eyeliner make up.

Black permanent make up ink is used and shape and thickness is determined on the day according to eye shape and personal  preference.

Skin must be in good condition to tattoo, no lash treatments for 1 week prior to tattoo, no false lashes to be worn and no eye make up worn on the day of treatment.

  • Length of treatment:

  • Appointments are approximately 3 hours long, a lot of time is taken up during the preparation stages and also picture taking.

The 5 week top up appointment usually takes half the time, if not less.

  • Level of pain

  • Microblading: depends on your sensitivity to pain. The treatment may feel uncomfortable for first 5 to 10 minutes of each brow, but when anesthetic is applied to broken skin the pain subsides quickly.

Most clients liken the pain sensation to that of having eyebrows plucked or a slight scratch. In addition, women on their period have an increased sensitivity to pain and if yiu feel tense before your appointment.

Keep calm for a more relaxed experience.

Eyelash enhancement: pre numbing cream is used and more used throughout treatment to maintain comfort level.

  • Side effects during the procedure:

  • During the procedure there may be some minor bleeding, redness, swelling and sensitivity. This will depend on the clients' skin structure.

  • Does it hurt afterwards?

  • The area can be a little tender for the first few hours, and then tender to the touch for a couple of days. This will lessen as the skin heals.

  • The following risks are explained to the client:

  • These possible risks include, but not limited to: bruising, bleeding, infection, and scarring. These are extremely rare but possible.
Despite the application of the most advanced and top quality pigments and topical anesthetic, an allergic reaction is possible but extremely rare. The client is informed about this and she/ he assumes liability.

During and after the treatment temporary swelling, redness itching and scabbing may occur. These symptoms are temporary and normal. Please follow proper aftercare to minimise symptoms.

  • How do the brows look immediately after the treatment?

  • Pigment in the skin will look darker, more intense and bolder when the brows are freshly done. The skin is still open so thenligment shows darker. This will continue for up to 10 days after the treatment.

Once the skin starts to heal it may appear darker still until around day 6 or 7 when scans that have formed will start to flake off.

If you feel the pigment is too dark, please do not try to lighten yourself, be patient as the pigment will fade and become a more soft and natural colour to resemble your own hair colour.

  • Colour retention

  • Colour retention always depends on the skin type. The oilier the skin is, the shorter the retention of the pigment as oily skin regenerates quicker than dry skin types.

Sweating and sun exposure also affect pigment retention.

On average pigment retention is around 10 to 12 months, with very oily skin colour retention may be up to 6 months. Other types of PMU techniques are recommended for very oily skin such as a soft shaded brow.

70% of the treatment success comes from proper after care. Always adhere to the given advice. Pigment is absorbed differently depending on the individuals' skin structure, no guarantees are made for the success of the treatment.

The minimum or maximum duration of the colour retention cannot be determined therefore no guarantees can be made as every skin type is different and lifestyle factors also affect colour retention over time.

  • The healing process

  • The microblading procedure, as with all semi-permanent or permanent make up, leads to a certain level of skin trauma due to the skin being opened to insert pigments. Therefore, it is important to fully adhere to the after care advice. Bespoke advice will be sent to you via WhatsApp according to your skin type. Details of general aftercare advice is also listed below.

    • Day 1: Brows feel tender to the touch, skin is inflamed and appears pinkish or red.
    • Day 3 to 5: Small scabs appear and colour intensity may change.
    • Brows can be up to 50% darker, and 15% thicker. Colour intensity also depends on the skins natural pigment.
    • The shape of the brows may change as the skin heals underneath. They may look different sizes or shapes. This will correct itself once healed.
    • Day 5 to 10: Scabs will start to flake off and it may appear that your tattooed brows have faded or disappeared.
    • Day 10 to 21: Brows look faded, almost as if the treatment hasn't worked (dont worry, have trust in the process).
    • Day 21 to 30: Faded pigment will start to show back through as the skin regenerates and heals.
    • Usually 10 to 15% of the strokes will fade, this is due to using non permanent PMU inks. The tattoo will be corrected during the top up treatment with a minimum of 30 days after the initial treatment.
    • Inadequate care in the healing phase can lead to poor results and Brows by Femi will not be liable for it.

EYES: Keep eye area clean, use dampened cotton pad to gently wipe eyelids clean. Avoid products and make up on eyes for 7 to 10 days.

Don't rub or scratch eyes during the healing phase.
