2025 Community Violence Intervention Conference
Call for Proposals 

Date: June 16 and 17, 2025  
Location: JW Marriott L.A. Live, Los Angeles, CA

Deadline: Proposals must be received by Friday, February 7, 2025.   

Hosted by GIFFORDS Center for Violence Intervention, the Community Violence Intervention (CVI) Conference aims to bring a focused and intentional spotlight to the lifesaving work being done across our nation. Over the course of this two-day convening, we will bring together subject-matter experts to share their insights and evidence-informed approaches that function to disrupt and reduce violence in our communities.

This event is intended to appeal to a range of stakeholders including survivors of violence, intervention practitioners, researchers, policy experts, advocates, and frontline workers. We encourage attendance from a variety of disciplines and sectors to foster collaboration and develop a stronger infrastructure at the local, state, and federal levels for the advancement of the CVI field.

Conference registration will be waived for accepted speakers. We will not be providing an honorarium or covering costs associated with travel, flights, lodging, or per diem.

CALL FOR PROPOSALS

Please complete the following form with the requested information for your proposal submission in as much detail as possible. Incomplete submissions will not be considered.

Interactive presentations should be designed to last 60 minutes, with an additional 15 minutes allocated for questions and answers. Each breakout session will be 75 minutes total.

We cannot accomodate more than three speakers per presentation. 

Note: Submissions with unconfirmed speakers or speakers listed as "TBD" will be considered incomplete submissions and are subject to reconsideration.

Please note: Submitting additional speakers will not improve your chances of selection,
we encourage you to prioritize quality and alignment over quantity.

Note: Registration fees for guests of speakers will not be waived.

LEAD CONTACT INFORMATION

The lead contact is responsible for receiving all conference communications about the current submission and informing the submission group of all relevant updates.

Note: The lead contact does not have to be a presenter.

Lead contacts not listed as presenters will not have a speaking role at the conference if the submission is accepted. Additionally, they will not be eligible for waived registration fees.

REMINDER

Conference registration will be waived for accepted speakers. If accepted, your registration will be completed by our team in collaboration with the Lead Contact of this submission.
