  • ROUND 1 CONCEPT SUBMISSION

    Hosted by GIFFORDS Center for Violence Intervention, the Community Violence Intervention (CVI) Conference is the largest international convening dedicated exclusively to advancing the CVI field. The conference centers the people, strategies, and evidence that are saving lives and strengthening community-led approaches to public safety.

    Over two days, the 2026 CVI Conference will bring together subject-matter experts from across the U.S. and abroad to share evidence-informed practices, policy insights, and on-the-ground lessons that work to disrupt and reduce violence in communities most impacted.

    This conference is designed to engage a broad range of stakeholders, including survivors of violence, intervention and prevention practitioners, frontline workers, researchers, policy experts, and advocates. We strongly encourage submissions that elevate lived experience, cross-sector collaboration, and practical applications that strengthen local, state, and federal CVI infrastructure.

    Conference registration will be waived for accepted speakers. Honoraria and travel-related expenses, including flights, lodging, and per diem, will not be provided.

  • For Round 1, we invite concept submissions that reflect the priorities and realities of community violence intervention work. We are seeking ideas that are grounded in practice, informed by experience, and responsive to the needs of the CVI field. 

    At this stage, submissions do not need to be fully developed sessions. Instead, we are looking for clear, compelling concepts that outline the core idea, intended audience, and the potential value for conference participants. 
     
    Breakout sessions, if selected for further development, will be 75 minutes total, including 60 minutes of content and 15 minutes for Q&A.

    After submitting for Round 1:

    1. All applications will be reviewed by the conference advisory committee after the submission window closes on February 24th, 2026.
    2. A limited number of Round 1 applicants will be invited to advance to Round 2 and submit a full session proposal.
    3. Round 2 invitations will be sent by March 10, 2026. 

    Please note that there are only 20 session slots available and submitting for Round 1 does not indicate acceptance to present at the conference. Advancement to Round 2 also does not guarantee inclusion in the final program.

    We encourage you to not purchase conference tickets for yourself or proposed speakers until final decisions have been sent.
