    Saint Paul residents are invited to join a composting 101 workshop. As part of the workshop, residents will learn why composting is important, how to compost, and what do with the completed product.


    Participants will receive all the supplies needed to get started, including a backyard compost bin! They will also have access to helpful tips, tools and guidance from City staff.

    Space is Limited! Each workshop can only host 30 participants. Participants must be residents of St Paul to participate.

    Workshop Cost: Free

    Workshop Participant Expectations:

    • Attend one workshop 
    • Have a desire to learn how to compost
    • Collect food waste in the provided bucket and record the weight for four weeks
    • Complete 3 short online surveys over eight weeks to report back on your experience

    Each Household Will Receive:

    • Backyard compost bin
    • Kitchen food scrap collection bucket
    • Tools to track your collected food scraps
