• Nomination for GSEMA Volunteer Recognitions 2019

Thank you for nominating a fellow Girl Scout Volunteer for a GSUSA or GSEMA volunteer recognition. We are truly honored to have such gifted and giving individuals working with us toward our mission of building girls of courage, confidence, and character, who make the world a better place.

    The Process:

    1. Submit a complete nomination.
The most successful descriptions make a volunteer's impact obvious with clear, precise numbers (hours spent, volunteers helped, girls impacted, cookie boxes sold, etc). If you're not sure of numbers, contact your Service Unit, Volunteer Support Specialist, or other volunteers in your area. Please read our Tips for Writing a Strong Nomination to help with this process!

    2. Provide a second nominator with the link.
    New this year!
This step will automatically be completed by the form. At the end of the form, please identify a second person to nominate this volunteer; an email will automatically be sent to them with the request to fill out another nomination. You will receive an email when they complete their nomination.

    3. Review by the Volunteer Recognition Committee
Once a candidate’s nominations are submitted, the Volunteer Recognition Committee reads through each nomination and endorsement. The Committee then recommends to the GSEMA Board of Directors which adult recognition each nominee should receive. After the board has made a decision on each nomination, our CEO will send a congratulatory letter to the Adult Recognition Awardees along with an invitation to our Volunteer Recognition Luncheon.

Thank you for recognizing the valuable work our volunteers do!

    PLEASE NOTE:

•The President's Award requires a separate form; please fill out the President's Award nomination and send three letters of endorsement to Customer Care at customercare@gsema.org

•All nominations must be submitted by the firm deadline of February 15, 2019.

•Service Unit level awards may be submitted directly to the service unit for approval and presentation.

•Volunteers are eligible for council-level recognition every three years. For example, if a volunteer was recognized in, or after, 2017 with a council-level award he/she is not eligible in 2019 for recognition at the council level.

  • Before You Start!

Gather the information you'll need to fill out this form. If you don't have some of this information, please contact your Service Unit or Volunteer Support Specialist. If you need any assistance, please contact Customer Care at CustomerCare@gsema.org!

    Do You Have:

    • Nominee's name, address, phone, and email?
    • Nominee's years in Girl Scouting?
    • Nominee's previous awards received?
    • Specific, clear evidence of the nominee's impact?
    • Nominee's current roles with Girl Scouts?

Have you read our Tips for Writing a Strong Nomination?

  • What honors have been received in the past? If the dates of these awards are known, please enter those dates in the comment field. Please note: volunteers are eligible for council level recognition every three years. For example, if a volunteer was recognized in 2016 or before, they are eligible in 2019. If they were recognized in 2017 or 2018, they are not eligible this year.

  • To successfully consider a volunteer for recognition, we must receive two separate nominations. Please provide the information for another person to nominate this volunteer (previously, this was called an 'endorser').

If you received a prompt to fill out this form, please list the first person to nominate this volunteer.

If you have not received a prompt to fill out this form, you are the first person to nominate this volunteer! When you complete this form, we will automatically send the alternate person a prompt to nominate.
