  • Event Managers play a vital role in bringing Gobble Gobble Give NYC to life. As a Manager, you’ll help oversee a specific area of the event - ensuring the day runs smoothly.

    Managers arrive at 7:00AM and help with setup, guide volunteers, and coordinate activities such as meal assembly, donation sorting, or toy distribution. You’ll stay until the event wraps up around 1:30 PM. If you need to leave early, just let us know - we’ll make sure your schedule is accommodated.

    All managers will be invited to a pre-event Zoom meeting to walk through every detail and confirm their assigned roles.

  • Every volunteer must bring a prepared Thanksgiving-style dish - this is what makes the event possible. We don’t receive outside food donations, so everything we serve comes directly from our volunteers.

    If you’re coming as a group, each person in your party must bring their own casserole-sized dish. For example: if you’re a group of 6, that means 6 dishes. Your confirmation email will include inexpensive & easy prepared food ideas.  Reach out to us if you have any questions. 

    If you’re bringing a large group please bring a good mix of food types so we have enough variety on the assembly line during your shift.

  • Donations (Optional but Deeply Appreciated!)
    Donations are not required, but they make a huge difference! Have a bag of clothing you’ve been meaning to drop off? Gently used toys your kids don’t play with anymore? Boxes of mac and cheese or cans of tuna your family won’t eat? Bring them with you! Every item you give goes directly to people who need it most.

    New in 2025 - Packaged Food Assembly Line
    All canned and packaged food donations will go to our new Packaged Food Assembly Line, where volunteers will build grocery care bags for our community partners. With SNAP benefits reduced, more New Yorkers are struggling to put food on the table - your contributions will help fill that gap.

  • What donations can you bring? Not required, but deeply appreciated!

  • PLEASE CHOOSE ONLY ONE SHIFT. To give as many people as possible the chance to volunteer, each person should sign up for one shift only.

    For example: If your family of four plans to arrive at 10:00AM, select four spots under “10:00AM Team Green.” Each shift lasts one hour - please register for just one.

    If none of the shifts fit your schedule, you can still participate by selecting “Drop off food and/or donations at the Victoria Theater on Thanksgiving Day” and bringing your items during the event.

  • 8:00AM EVENT SETUP TEAM (1 Hour Shift) Help our Managers set up the event and then work at a station. Reminders: Choose only one shift. Everyone in your party must bring a prepared dish.
  • 8:30AM TEAM PINK (1 Hour Shift) Reminders: Choose only one shift. Everyone in your party must bring a prepared dish.
  • 9:00AM TEAM RED (1 Hour Shift) Reminders: Choose only one shift. Everyone in your party must bring a prepared dish.
  • 9:30 TEAM YELLOW (1 Hour Shift) Reminders: Choose only one shift. Everyone in your party must bring a prepared dish.
  • 10:00AM TEAM GREEN (1 Hour Shift) Reminders: Choose only one shift. Everyone in your party must bring a prepared dish.
  • 10:30AM TEAM PURPLE (1 Hour Shift) Reminders: Choose only one shift. Everyone in your party must bring a prepared dish.
  • 11:00AM TEAM ORANGE (1 Hour Shift) Reminders: Choose only one shift. Everyone in your party must bring a prepared dish.
  • 11:30AM TEAM WHITE (1 Hour Shift) Reminders: Choose only one shift. Everyone in your party must bring a prepared dish.
  • 12:00PM TEAM BLUE (1 Hour Shift) Reminders: Choose only one shift. Everyone in your party must bring a prepared dish.
  • 12:30PM TEAM BROWN (1 Hour Shift will help with breakdown starting at 1p) Reminders: Choose only one shift. Everyone in your party must bring a prepared dish.

    🦃 Purchase Supplies for the Event
    Help us stock up on essentials like takeout containers, serving pans, meal warmers, water, and gloves. All items are shipped directly to the organizers and used at the event on Thanksgiving.
