  • GOBBLE GOBBLE GIVE NYC 2026

Thanksgiving Day • Thursday, November 26
Church of the Intercession, Harlem • 550 W 155th St, NY, NY 10032

NEW LOCATION THIS YEAR! We’re so excited to bring Gobble Gobble Give back to the Church of the Intercession in Harlem, where our NYC event began and where we spent our first 11 Thanksgivings!

We’re incredibly grateful to the Apollo Theater for welcoming GGG NYC & providing a home for our event over the past 5 years. We’ll always appreciate their support & the memories we made.🧡

Help Us Feed and Support Our Neighbors
Together, we’ll pack and distribute Thanksgiving meals and collect clothing, toys, books, toiletries, baby supplies, and packaged food for our community partners. This is a true grassroots effort. YOU, OUR VOLUNTEERS - MAKE IT ALL HAPPEN - from bringing the food and donations to getting everything ready for the people we serve.

The Most Important Thing You Bring Is FOOD! 🍽️
Every volunteer must bring one casserole-sized container of prepared Thanksgiving-style food. All the prepared food we serve comes from our participants. Without your food, there are no meals to pack. Your dishes don’t need to be fancy or expensive. We’ll share easy, budget-friendly ideas on the next page and in your confirmation email, including simple options for anyone short on time.

Registering 5 people? Please bring 5 casserole-sized dishes. You can coordinate who brings what, but please plan for one dish per person. Think Thanksgiving-style food like: cooked & sliced turkey or ham, stuffing, mashed potatoes, macaroni and cheese, green beans, or desserts like pumpkin pie or brownies. We run out of main dishes first, so turkey and ham are especially appreciated!

Additional Donations: Optional, but They Make a Big Difference! You know that bag of clothing sitting in your closet that you’ve been meaning to donate? Or those toys your kids no longer play with? Bring them! The New Yorkers we support would be so grateful to receive them.

    Here’s How It Works

    • Register yourself or your group for ONE one-hour shift using the form below.👇 Please choose only one shift so as many people as possible have the opportunity to help!

    • Tell us what you’ll bring: your prepared food and any optional donations.

    • On Thanksgiving day, arrive for your shift with your food cooked, warm, and ready to serve, in covered disposable containers with disposable serving utensils. Turkey and ham must be sliced before you arrive. Please insulate your food well to keep it warm during the trip. Our runners will take your food directly to the meal assembly line when you arrive, where we’ll use chafing dishes with Sterno and food-warming pads to keep it warm.

    • Check in and receive your assignment. We’ll place you where help is needed most—packing meals, sorting donations, or supporting another area of the event. Have a preference? Let the registration team know when you arrive, and we’ll accommodate it if we can.

    • After an hour of connection and giving back, leave our event knowing so many neighbors will have a warm Thanksgiving meal and a reminder that their community cares. And you’ll still have plenty of time to enjoy your own celebration! 🧡

Can’t stay to volunteer? We'll gratefully accept your prepared food and donations! Choose the drop-off option below.

Want to take a bigger role? Join our volunteer management team! Help us organize stations, support volunteers, and keep the day running smoothly. It’s a super fun and incredibly rewarding way to spend Thanksgiving! Learn more and sign up to be a manager below.

  • In Loving Memory of Tommy Cheng 🧡

This year, as we return to the Church of the Intercession, we dedicate Gobble Gobble Give NYC to Tommy Cheng, who helped start this event in 2009.

Tommy was the church sexton, its eyes and ears, and a beloved part of it's community. He opened the church’s doors to us that first Thanksgiving, when we were just a few friends coming together to help a handful of neighbors in need. He was essential to every Thanksgiving we held there through 2019, helping that small gathering grow into a tradition shared by hundreds of volunteers. Quite simply, we couldn’t have done it without him.

Tommy was a kind soul with a huge heart, and he meant so much to everyone who knew him. Although the pandemic took our event to another venue, he stayed in touch. His sudden passing last year was a heartbreaking loss.

Coming back to the church without Tommy is bittersweet, but we can’t think of a more meaningful place to honor him. Every meal we pack and every act of kindness we share this Thanksgiving will help carry forward the generosity he showed us from the very beginning.

Event managers help bring Gobble Gobble Give NYC to life! You’ll oversee an area of the event, guide volunteers, and keep the day running smoothly—from registration and meal assembly to donation sorting and deployment. We couldn’t make this event happen without your help!

Managers arrive at 7am for setup and stay until approximately 2pm. If you need to leave early on Thanksgiving, please let us know when registering so we can plan coverage.

We also ask each manager to attend one of two pre-event Zoom meetings to review the day and answer questions. Only an hour long. You’ll choose your meeting below.

It’s a bigger commitment, but a fun and incredibly rewarding way to spend Thanksgiving - and you’ll help make the whole event possible.

Questions about becoming a manager? Email us at GobbleGobbleGiveNYC@gmail.com

  • Please attend one pre-event manager Zoom meeting. We’ll walk through the event and answer questions so everyone feels ready for Thanksgiving morning. Both meetings cover the same information - you only need to attend one!
  • Which meeting will you attend?*
  • Choose Your Volunteer Shift
Select ONE one-hour shift, then choose the number of people you’re registering-including yourself and all children.

For example, a group of 5 should reserve 5 spaces in the same shift. Please register each person only once, for one shift, so more people have an opportunity to help.

You’ll be assigned a task when you arrive based on where help is needed most. Tasks may include assembling meals, sorting donations, packing grocery bags, or helping with the children’s workshop.

  • Choose a Volunteer Shift*
  • What prepared food will you or your group bring?

  • Choose the number of casserole-sized containers your entire group will bring in each category. Every volunteer must bring one container. For example, 5 volunteers = at least 5 containers. All food must be cooked and ready to serve. Turkey and ham must be sliced before arrival. There is no kitchen onsite.
