Golden Hill All-Stars (10u-14u) Interest, Understanding, & Self-Nomination

All-Star Eligibility :

To be eligible for selection to a Golden Hill 10U through 14U All-Star team, the following criteria must be met and verified prior to selection:

• The player must reside within the Golden Hill boundaries or attend a school within these boundaries, or have received a waiver to participate in Golden Hill without restrictions.
• The player must have participated in a minimum of 8 official Golden Hill games.
• The player must meet the age and division playing requirements for selection (10U through 14U in AAA, Majors, and Juniors).

All-Star Selection Process

Managers and the first coach from each team within a given division will cast votes for eligible and interested players.

• Each team will consist of 12 eligible players
• The top 5 vote recipients in each age group will be automatically selected for the team.
• The Golden Hill appointed All-Star Manager will then select the remaining 7 players from the those ranked 6th through 17th based on the voting results.

Playing Time Requirements :

All positions on the team, as well as spots in the lineup, are earned through the manager’s evaluation of each player's skills, effort, and commitment. The manager will assess players based on their performance during practices, scrimmages, and games, ensuring that each position is assigned in a manner that best benefits the team’s overall success. In accordance with Little League rules, all players will be placed in a continuous lineup (all players bat), allowing for equal opportunities at bat.

However, it is important to note that there is no obligation for a player to take the field defensively during a game. The decision of where, when, & if a player participates defensively is ultimately at the discretion of the manager, based on the needs of the team and individual player development. This ensures that the team’s strategic goals are met.

All-Star Player Time Commitment :

Being selected for a Golden Hill All-Star team is both a privilege and an honor, one that requires unwavering commitment and dedication. This opportunity demands full devotion to the team for a period of 1 to 3 months during the summer, and should not be taken lightly.

• Practices, Scrimmages, & Team Events: These will begin no sooner than May 15th and run until the team is eliminated. One can expect a commitment of 5 to 6 days per week.
• Little League Tournaments: Tournament season will begin no sooner than June 14th. Depending on the team’s success, these events may extend until late July (10U - 11U) or late August (12U - 14U)
• Expectations: All selected players are expected to attend all scheduled events.
