  • A 10-Step Program

10 weeks. Small groups. The heart-centered community you've been waiting for.
  • About the Program

As bell hooks noted, “Rarely, if ever, are any of us healed in isolation. Healing is an act of communion.” In times of deep fragmentation and isolation, we must come together. We must heal.

Created by LaUra Schmidt and Aimee Lewis Reau, Good Grief Network's 10-Step program is a peer-to-peer support group where we can start attending to our collective wounding and traumas created by surviving in unjust systems. In the program, we connect 2 hours each week over 10 weeks. During that time we learn to attune to one another to process our heavy and painful feelings about the state of the world, build community connections, and (re-)discover meaning and joy. Each group is facilitated by a GGN-trained and certified FLOW Facilitator.

This is NOT a therapy program. We are not here to fix each other or be fixed. We practice deep listening and sharing in these spaces; not discussion. We prioritize an intimate group experience, capping each group at 15 participants, including the facilitation team. In this space, our facilitators will create a brave, emergent container where each participant can explore what it means to stay awake, aware, and engaged during times of great disruption, chaos, and uncertainty. We will do the deep work of facing and processing our feelings with others, so that we can care for ourselves and our communities. It seems like hard work, but participants have reported more capacity & aliveness, and the ability to face this destabilizing moment with more heart and courage.

Good Grief Network does not offer advice. We are not here to fix each other but to slow down, listen deeply, create connections, build trust, and reimagine the world. We create transformative spaces using group consciousness, grounding exercises, personal sharing, and poetry.

    Informational Session

A recording of our latest 10-Step Info Session can be found here.

    Time Commitment

We prioritize small groups, so spots are limited. Please only sign up for this group if you are able to attend the full two hours of all 10 meetings (barring unexpected circumstances, of course).

    Accessibility

Each session will be hosted on Zoom. Access and familiarity with the Zoom platform is recommended.

This program will be hosted in English. We would like to be able to offer the 10-Step in other languages, but are still a very small nonprofit organization and do not have that capacity at this time.

Please let us know if you have any accessibility needs the facilitator team should be aware of.

Who Is This Group Not For?

This group is not for folks who:

    • are experiencing acute crisis (see Climate Psychology Alliance-NA, 988, or other mental health services)
    • want to discuss solutions or are seeking a discussion space (we practice a sharing method where we do not directly respond to one another)
    • want quick fixes or to focus on action, right now
    • are not yet ready to sit with complexity and paradox
    • want to fix one another
    • struggle to practice deep listening
    • want to convince others of their beliefs
    • are unwilling to see the intersectional nature of the crisis (how supremacies and injustices fuel the climate and ecological crises)
    • are unwilling to look inside oneself and explore emotions and authenticity

  • Program Payment

Good Grief Network offers three tiers for payment for our 10-week program. We offer a payment plan option to everyone regardless of tier. You can pay the program fee in 1 payment or 2 payments (half paid upon form submission, half paid one month after the program starts).

There are only a select number of tickets for each tier, so we encourage registering early. If you select a tier and the message "Not enough stock for current selection" appears, we have sold out of that ticket level and another selection needs to be made.

    Redistribution Rate: $650 USD

This rate is for community members who have access to structural wealth such as a stable job, investment income, or inherited wealth, and are able to pay a higher rate to support the participation of folks who pay at the solidarity rate. If you are funded by a for-profit employer who is covering the cost of this program, please opt for the redistribution rate.

    Full Rate: $550 USD

This rate reflects what it costs to run our program so that we can continue offering a solidarity rate, scholarships, and work exchanges. If you are funded by a non-profit employer who is covering the cost of this program, please opt for the full rate.

    Solidarity Rate: $450 USD

This rate is for folks who live in fiscal discomfort or uncertainty, or otherwise lack access to financial resources.

    Sliding Scale Considerations

Please consider the following questions, as well as your relative levels of wealth and privilege when choosing what pricing tier is most appropriate for you:

    • How do you value the following support and education?
      • Help reframing the global predicament
      • Understanding the interconnectedness of the climate crisis & social injustices
      • Learning and practicing emotional regulation techniques
      • Access to curated resource lists
      • Space to share your feelings in a tender, brave, and supportive group with other participants who are experiencing similar challenges
      • Building a live, intimate, and trusted community for 10 weeks

    • How do you value the team of facilitators that will support you?
      • We have teams of two GGN-trained FLOW Facilitators that will guide you through the 10-week journey
      • How much do you value their expertise, time, energy, and leadership?
      • Do you pay other practioners full price for their services?

    • What is the value, per hour, that your culture has assigned to your time?
      • Please consider supporting this program with a fee that is equal to at least 20 hours at your average hourly rate

    • Are you able to comfortably meet your needs?
      • If you have ample expendable income, savings, investements, inherited wealth, or otherwise have had structural advantages or access to financial resources, please consider paying the redistribution rate on the payment scale, in order to support our community members with less access to resources
      • What payment offering feels like both a meaningful contribution for our 10-week journey and is within your means to pay?

    Scholarship Information

To increase accessibility, 50% scholarships are available on a first-come, first-serve basis. If the message "Not enough stock for current selection" appears after selecting the 50% scholarship option below, that means all the 50% scholarships have been claimed for this group.

If you are interested in a 100% scholarship, please do not complete this form. Instead please click here to apply.

We do not want finances to be an obstacle to participation, so if you are experiencing financial limitations, we encourage you to select or apply for a scholarship.

  • GGN Refund Policy

We are unable to offer refunds for GGN's 10-Step program.

GGN offers a small group experience, which means that spots in our programs are limited and coveted. Because this fellowship involves progressive step-work and intimate trust-building, we are unable to fill the spots of participants who withdraw last minute or in the middle of the program. We ask you to please practice discernment and mutual care by being intentional with your registration.

This includes time zone mix ups.
Before booking a space in our 10-Step program, please double check your availability and the time zone of this offering. Please double check your time zone before continuing.

  • Are you paying the program fee in one or two payments?*
  • Please be sure to select the '2 Payment' option under 'Payment Choice' for your selected tier below.

By opting-in to our payment plan, you agree to pay the first half of the program fee at checkout and the second half one month after the program starts. These are two equal, interest-free, payments.

The invoice for the second payment will be sent via email by GGN.
