How the Home Water Savings Rebate Program works
Who is eligible?
City of Calgary homeowners or residential water utility account holders who purchase and install one new eligible WaterSense-labelled bathroom fixture at their household, unit or address may apply.
Applicants must be the ENMAX Water Account holder for the household, unit or address entered in this application. Fixtures must be purchased and installed before applying.
What is WaterSense?
WaterSense is an independent, third-party certification that meets the United States Environmental Protection Agency’s specifications for water efficiency and performance.
Products from various brands can have the WaterSense label, which you can search for using the following link: https://www.epa.gov/watersense/product-search
How many rebates can I apply for?
There is a maximum of one rebate per eligible applicant for one eligible WaterSense-labelled bathroom fixture at one eligible household, unit or address. Applicants cannot combine multiple fixtures into one rebate claim.
For example, if you purchase one eligible $50 showerhead, the maximum rebate for that application is $50, including applicable taxes up to the $150 maximum. You cannot apply again for another fixture or another address through this pilot program.
Which bathroom fixtures are eligible?
Toilets (non-flushometer-valve toilets), bathroom sink faucets, and showerheads with a WaterSense label.

Urinals, irrigation controllers, sprinklers, flushometer-valve toilets, bathroom tubs, kitchen faucets, water treatment systems, and accessories are not eligible for rebate.
Fixtures must be an original sale (not resale item).
Fixtures must be purchased as an original sale from a retailer, supplier or contractor and must be supported by an itemized receipt or invoice. Resale, second-hand or peer-to-peer purchases, including marketplace-style purchases, are not eligible.
Eligible purchases are those made on or after August 4th, 2026.
How many rebates are available?
Funding is available for approximately 1,500 rebates.
The program closes December 1st, 2026, or when available funding is fully allocated, whichever comes first. Rebates are available on a first come, first served basis. The City of Calgary and Green Calgary reserve the right to cancel or change the program at any time.
How do I dispose of my old fixtures?
Use The City of Calgary’s What Goes Where residential recycling and disposal search tool to find the proper disposal method for your old fixture.
Search for the item you want to dispose of, and the tool will provide disposal options based on whether the item is still usable or no longer usable. It will also show nearby drop off locations on a map.
