    Camp Bold Eagle

    Counselor-In-Training Application

All camps require unique skills of its staff. Following are some questions to consider, helping you decide if Camp Bold Eagle is an appropriate place for you to devote your time and energy. This assessment is for your purposes alone, so be completely honest with yourself. Discuss this decision with important people in your life. Being a C.I.T. at camp is a commitment, and it is important to make sure that the commitment is a good fit for you.

    Can you BE PRESENT?

Orientation for CIT staff begins on Monday, July 7, 2025, and camp ends on Saturday, July 26, 2025. Are you available to attend camp for this entire period?

Being present means not only being physically at camp the entire time but also being mentally present. Can you focus all of your attention on your campers and fellow staff members when on duty?

    Can you BE RESPONSIBLE?

As a C.I.T., you will be given new responsibilities: helping look after campers, assisting with set-up and implementation of programs, completing an improvement project around camp. You will also be expected to take responsibility for you. Can you be on time for activities? Can you take care of your medical needs without the health center reminding you? Can you complete this application process with minimal help from your parent or guardian?

    Can you BE CAMP?

Camp is a place where being silly and sincere and vulnerable are encouraged and expected. "Being Camp" means being willing to look silly singing a song or getting a pie to the face if it will make a camper's day. Camp is a place of positivity and acceptance. At Camp Bold Eagle, we strive to make camp a life-enriching experience for all who attend, campers and staff alike. To what length are you willing to go in order to be the best camp counselor or staff person that you can be?

Thanks for considering these important questions!  Every staff person is important to the mission of Camp Bold Eagle and the campers rely on you for this extraordinary experience.  If, after answering these questions, camp is a good fit for you, it promises to be an equally life-enriching and rewarding experience.
