The Historic Grand Prix Cars Association was formed by a group of enthusiasts in 1979 and is dedicated to the enjoyment and preservation of Historic Grand Prix Cars.
Owners and Drivers should understand that they race solely by the invitation of the Association and agree to abide by the Association's Rules and Guidelines and conduct themselves in a considerate and sporting manner, both on and off the track, at all times. Owners should accept the responsibility of maintaining the original configuration and specification of their car in accordance with its FIA HTP papers.
The cars that we drive have few inherent safety features. Accidents not only destroy originality but also put at risk the Appendix K period concessions under which we are allowed to race. Members are therefore required by the Association to drive in a sportsmanlike and considerate fashion, in particular avoiding contact and not indulging in aggressive driving tactics. A Driving Standards sub-committee is in place to review all accidents, incidents and causes for complaint as a matter of course as and when they arise. Offenders will be warned and may not be invited to future HGPCA races.
It is the nature of the Association that we have members and cars of widely differing ability and performance. A degree of tolerance is expected from faster drivers. Behaviour that brings, or is likely to bring, the Association in to disrepute, including abusive language and/or gestures to other competitors or officials, will not be tolerated.
The Association holds post-event prizegiving and regularly provides lunches or barbecues under the awning of the Red Truck. Members and guests must be aware that using the awning is at their own risk and should exercise care when using any of the catering and other equipment. The awning is the Association's property and is not covered by the Red Truck Third Party Insurance.
Motor Racing is dangerous. By signing this Season's Entry Form to race, agreeing to drive, or allowing your car to be raced in HGPCA races, each entrant, owner and driver hereby unconditionally releases, discharges and indemnifies the Historic Grand Prix Cars Association Limited and its Directors and staff members from and against any liability or responsibility in any jurisdiction in respect of any economic, physical damage or injury, which may be caused to him/herself and/or the car entered, whether as a result of the act, omission or alleged negligence of any of them or of any other competitor which occurs in an HGPCA race.
