Helping Our Adolescents Prosper (HOAP) is a local growing nonprofit 501(c)3 that was founded June 7, 2013.
Our mission is to educate, empower, and nurture underserved youth and adolescents including young mothers (mothers-to-be).
HOAP's vision is to ultimately develop youth & adolescents into introspective thinkers and resilient young adults through coordinated community mobilization, staunch advocacy, and mentorship. Maximizing young people’s natural potential so they can sustain enriching and self-fulfilling lives.
What makes HOAP unique is our ability to serve as a prevention and intervention empowering educational resource hub where we educate youth, including young mothers 12-24 with the necessary life skills. Our devoted HOAP support is focused on improving their physical, social, and emotional well-being, which provides an opportunity to break the cycles of poverty and create the pathway to a bright future.
HOAP recognizes and values the differences and similarities that exist in participants, families, youth, adolescents and the community and does not tolerate behaviours, language or practices that label, stereotype or demean others. All particpants, staff, interns, and volunteers are treated with respect, and appreciated as individuals with unique abilities, skills and knowledge.
We encourage the participation of volunteers who support our
mission and are willing to contribute. The information provided through this form will be kept confidential and will help us determine the
most satisfying and appropriate volunteer opportunity for you.
